Jonah's Baby Dedication

This was a very special day for more than one reason. First of all, it was my first Mother's Day with Jonah, but more importantly we did Jonah's Baby Dedication today. What a wonderful blessing from the Lord he is! We chose the verse Joshua 1:9 for his life verse: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." There is nothing we want more for Jonah's life than for him to know and love the Lord. While God has given us the responsibility to raise Jonah, we know that he belongs to the Lord first and foremost.

God, You are so good! Thank you for blessing us with this precious baby boy. Today we publicly dedicate him to you! Oh, that he would know and love You above all else in his life. Help us as we raise him, to be the Godly examples that he can look to. We pray your protection and provision for Jonah. We pray that he would be a healthy, happy little boy. We pray for that day when he comes to know You! We pray that as a teenager, he would stay on the path of righteousness, holiness, and purity. We pray as he becomes a man, that he would love You with his whole heart. We pray for the wife you have appointed for him...that she would walk in purity and that You would bring them together as only You can do when the time is right. We pray that Jonah would be a Godly husband and father to his children someday. Most of all, we pray that he would walk with You all the days of his life. Thank you for entrusting us with him. Amen.

Your Momma & Daddy love you to the moon and back! But more importantly, we want you to know that you have a heavenly Father who loves you even more than that! We chose Joshua 1:9 for you because we want you to know that you can stand strong and be courageous in your life, knowing that God will be with you wherever you go! 

I am so thankful for such a wonderful church family. It is great to know that our church is partnering with us to raise Jonah in the ways of the Lord!

This is a letter for Jonah to read on the day he accepts Christ. 

Poppa Jim and Louise got us this sweet picture frame and card for Jonah's baby dedication. How thoughtful it was! Louise wasn't able to be there since it was Mother's Day and she was with her family. We missed her but completely understood.
