June Misc.

Here are some misc. pics and videos from June! The summer is off to a great start and it feels like we are running 100 mph! That's good in some ways, but bad in others. The month of June always feels like this because have something literally every single week. It is probably our busiest month out of the whole year. I love it, but I'm always glad to see July because that means we get to slow down and relax a little!
Jonah had fun playing during PreSMAK!
Madison was needing a little extra attention, so she got to go with me to get our nails done on Friday while Mackenzie was at SMAK. She was so proud of her fingers and toes! Of course Mackenzie didn't think that was fair at all, which made it even more fun for Madison!
The Steen's had a birthday dinner for Brian and me and invited the Easterwood's to join us. It was such a fun evening for us all! (Well, I hope Jeff wasn't too overwhelmed by 4 giggly, LOUD dancing & singing girls!) Jonah was the emcee...if anyone tried to take his microphone, he had a fit!
Debbie has this "You are special today" plate for special occasions. Brian got to use it since it was his birthday! I definitely need to get one of these for my new house!
The Steens' house has been a wonderful "home away from home" for us during the end of May and two weeks in June. This is what we do in the mornings...
The Bradford's so kindly gave us a pool membership to the Philcrest Country Club this summer. This little kiddie pool is just right for Jonah and the girls loved jumping off of the diving board. We weren't able to go as often as we would have liked, but we went several times and enjoyed it every time!
This is one of Jonah's favorite places to play at the Steen's house! He climbs into the dog crate and shuts the door. Silly kid!
Sometimes sleeping in Daddy's t-shirts is just fun!
That is an impressive block tower! Notice that its up on the table...block towers don't last long with Jonah on the loose!
Just Roll, Roll, Roll that stone away!

Swimming Lessons

This was our second year to do swim lessons at ORU and once again, it was a great success. The girls both jumped off of the low diving board and the high dive with no trouble. Last year, Brian had to go up on the high dive and practically throw them off...this year they both walked right out on it and jumped in. We were SO, SO proud of them!! I actually missed Madison's first jump off the high dive...I looked over and saw her standing against the wall, smiling and waving at me and I walked over and she said, "Did you see me?!" I almost cried...I don't know how, but I missed it! So I begged her to do it again and she did! What a brave little girl. I can say with 100% confidence that I would not have done that at 5 years old...I am 95% sure I wouldn't do it at 32 years old! Both of the girls are swimming very well on their own and are becoming very confident in the water. Even though it was hard rushing from VBS to swim lessons every day at 12:15 the first week, I'm so glad we did it. It was well worth it! Mackenzie wore ear plugs, but still got water in her ears and got an ear infection and wasn't able to swim the last few days of lessons. Next year Jonah will be old enough to take swim lessons and I can't wait. I have a feeling he may not like it too much at first. Maybe he'll prove me wrong! Here are pictures and videos from our 2 weeks of lessons.
This was day one, off the low diving board for the first time.
Mackenzie's class practiced diving a lot. She did so good!
I could not believe how she just walked right out onto the high dive and jumped off! She kind of bent her legs, so it hurt a little when she hit the water, but other than that she did great!
Yea, Mackenzie!!!
It's so much more fun when you get to do things like this with friends!
I just couldn't resist...
It was so humid in there and Jonah always got so hot and sweaty watching from his stroller. I can't wait to watch him take swim lessons next year!
Here goes Madi on the high dive...
As she was about to jump off the high dive, she took her goggles off. They ended up at the bottom of the deep end and that was the last we saw of them!
"This is boring...can't we leave yet?"
Mack's 1st jump off the high dive...she kind of panics a little when she gets close to the water. So proud of her!
Mack's 2nd jump off high dive...
This was Madison's 2nd jump off the high dive, but the first that I saw...I still can't believe I missed her jump the first time! I love how she looks over and waves a little to make sure I'm watching this time! I'm so proud of her!!!
