Learning

The past 6 months have been a real struggle for me, in many ways that I can't really even put into words. Time, distance and circumstances have challenged and changed the most important friendships in my life. And my heart is broken over it. It is a very lonely place to be in. I have let the opinions of others make me question my character and the way I view myself. I am a people pleaser...I want everyone to think well of me...I will do just about anything to make that happen...but I have learned maybe more than ever before that it just isn't possible to please everyone. Especially when you are in the middle of an extremely difficult situation between two people that you love very much. So what to do? I am learning to just be me. Because I am enough. I am going to love. I am going to be still. I am going to set my eyes on the One who is always there! The One who never lets me down or leaves me. The One who is capable of doing more than we can even think or imagine! And I am going to smile because of that! I get to decide what I say or don't say...how I feel or don't feel...who I spend time with and who I don't...and I am learning that even though it is so hard and not what I want to do, I have to let go of the things that I can't change. I have to quit letting these thoughts and emotions control me and consume my heart and mind. I do pray every day for God to intervene and fix what only He can! And I am learning so much about myself in this process...

I've shared this one before, but its still one of my favorites...
=0(((( Hard.
 Really, Really sad.

Appointments All Week

So in the midst of spending time in Tulsa for SMAK & VBS, I also tried to fit in as many appointments as I could in the afternoons. (Much to the kids great disappointment!) I still haven't found new dentists & doctors in Edmond...I know I need to do that soon.
We started with dentist appointments for all three kids, where Mackenzie ended up getting a tooth pulled. Madison also had a little cavity that needed to be filled, so thankfully they fit her in a few days later while we were still in town to have it fixed.
I took all three of the kids to Raley for well checks too. I miss having him for our Pediatrician SO much. There's just not another Dr. Raley out there! I think Jonah was the only one who had to have any shots.
We ended the week of VBS with eye dr appt's on Friday. They all checked out okay, so very thankful for that! Jonah will eventually need new glasses, but for now his little blue ones still fit. I will be sad when he outgrows them!
And during the week of SMAK, Mackenzie had an ear appt with Dr. Siemens. Of course she melted completely down when she found out...see pic below...but as always it was no big deal once we got there and did it. She tends to panic over her ears every. single. time. He said there's still a tiny little hole in one of her eardrums, but it doesn't seem to be causing any problems so we don't need to do anything about it.
We have been very lucky to have such great physicians taking care of our kids in Tulsa! I'm glad we can still occasionally see them when we are in Tulsa. Really thankful and blessed to have generally healthy, happy kids!
Jonah wasn't at all phased by going to the dentist! This was his first real teeth cleaning and he did great!
She got a little gas before having her tooth pulled. She was very brave and I was so proud of her!
Those are some good looking teeth!
I wonder if Jonah's scar from his fireplace fall will ever go away.
Clean teeth for everyone!!
Back to the dentist on Wednesday to have Madison's little cavity filled. Katelyn came with us for moral support!
As if having an appt to have a cavity filled wasn't enough...we also had well checks with Raley the same afternoon.
We were getting tired of appt's at this point!
hahaha! I like this one!
We got to FaceTime with Daddy while we waited for Dr. Raley to come in. Trust me...I was REALLY missing him about now!
On Friday, the kids had eye appt's. They always take a while because we have to wait for their eyes to dilate.
Last, but not least...
This was during the week of SMAK...Mackenzie was not a happy girl when she found out we were going to the ear dr. Thankfully, everything looked really good and it was an easy appointment.
I tried to get her to realize that she may have overreacted and panicked a bit more than necessary. The worry of the appt is always worse than the actual appt. This girl is a lot like her Momma when it comes to worrying about things. =0(
Dip cones for the win!
Jonah was just there for moral support!
