It's March 31st and I just found this stack of Christmas cards in the glove box of my van...think anyone would notice if I just save them for next Christmas? Or wait...maybe we'll just celebrate Christmas in July this year!
Here were my hashtags when I posted this on Instagram...
Easter was a little different for us this year...it was the first time in over 10 years that we weren't at our home church on Easter Sunday. (Easter was the Sunday after our "last" Sunday at STBC.) Since we were at G-Ma's house the day before, we decided to stay and go to Henderson Hills in Edmond. It was fun to be in a new place, but also a little sad because we missed our "family." After the service, we headed back to Tulsa. We have taken pictures with the Easterwood's on Easter for many years, so we stopped at their house for a few minutes, to say hi & take pics! Then, we had been invited to have lunch with the Kimberling's and Romoser's, so that was our next stop. I love that we got to spend time with our friends! We went home and spent a relaxing afternoon and evening playing games, watching movies & just being together.
G-Ma bought the kids Easter clothes...they looked so pretty & handsome! She helps us SO much with things like this!
Easter is always fun and so special...it celebrates the very essence of who we are in Christ & the miraculous gift Jesus gave us when He died on the cross & rose 3 days later, so that we could have forgiveness for our sins. Without Him, how lost we would be!
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave
O death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
The glory of God has defeated the night!
Our God is not dead, he's alive! He's alive!
So thankful for this family who has really become "our" family too! They have invited and welcomed us to many holiday lunches, when we weren't with our own families. It's such a sweet blessing to have friends to do life with!
With the craziness of life these past few weeks, I sort of "forgot" about Easter baskets until the day before...but, I managed to pull it together and they were happy! The girls got sunglasses, nightgowns, a new dress, some headbands, and Skip-Bo and Phase 10 cards. Jonah got some Hot Wheels, a Spiderman hat, some candy and a Paw Patrol DVD.!
Totally unplanned, but their dresses were the same color!
Brian told us we looked like peacocks! =0) Love this friend of mine, so so much!!
After the Strickland's egg hunt & lunch, we went back to G-Ma's house for a fun afternoon and evening of hunting more eggs, playing in the treehouse, swinging in the hammock, and coloring Easter eggs. I love days like today!
G-Ma did an Easter Egg scavenger hunt for the kids. They each had a different color to look for, and once they found Egg #1, it had a clue in it that would send them looking for Egg #2, and so on...the final egg led them inside to their Easter baskets! So much fun!
I ended up with all pictures of Jonah, because I was following and helping him. The girls took off on their own!
Easter cards from Poppa & Louise!
Oh, and there was also a much-needed nap in the middle of our day! This kid...rest assured, if I lay down with him, his leg is going to be hiked up on me like this. So funny!
G-Ma's house is so pretty!
Coloring eggs! Of course he wanted BLUE!! Most of his eggs came out cracked, but he had fun!
Oh dear, I look tired and old in this picture. Ugh!
