Go Gold for Levy & Game Day

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and one of our sweet little 1st graders at CHA named Leavyn, is battling leukemia. CHA wanted to show their support for Leavyn, so they had a "Go Gold for Levy" day. Everyone dressed in yellow/gold and the cheerleaders helped welcome Leavyn and her family into the auditorium on Friday morning, for a time of prayer with the secondary students. Mackenzie was excited to dress up as Cru for this! We are praying that God completely cures Leavyn & holds her family close through this trial.
The football game this week was in Crescent. I was exhausted from the busyness of the week & working extended care on Friday afternoon, so I enjoyed a quiet night at home cuddling with the boys. I don't like missing things, but I just really needed some down time.

"Are You Okay?"

Yes, I am okay!
But even though I usually look put together like this (above)...a lot of the time I feel like this (below) on the inside. Life is a just a lot, juggling 4 busy kids right now. I absolutely love my life, I just feel depleted and overwhelmed most of the time. But I am okay. I'm better than okay actually! I am so very blessed. And so. very. tired.

Sisters

"Sisters are different flowers from the same garden."

I love how God made them each so beautiful & special in their own unique ways! I've always wished I had a sister--a built-in friend for life! I'm very thankful that they have each other. I pray they never let anything come between them & that they stay close friends and sisters always.

I took them to get their hair done & we topped off the day with Surf Bar, so they were very happy girls! Have I mentioned that teenage girls are expensive?!

Time is a thief!!
Blondie!
Mack went darker and I love it!

They have me hooked!

DRIVERS LICENSE

Today was a big day around here! So proud of this girl! Mackenzie passed her driving test with flying colors and is now a licensed driver! I know we have been a little slow with this process of learning to drive, but we have gone at a pace she was comfortable with, and she still got her license while she was 16! (With just a few days to spare!) We went to Merkley's and she did her one hour practice drive right before doing the actual driving test. That was super helpful and the only thing she missed points on was uphill parking or something like that. I'm pretty sure I don't even know what uphill and downhill parking really even means. I feel confident that Mackenzie is a good driver and she's ready to be on the road!
It is a very scary thing as a parent, thinking about your child driving away by themselves. Terrifying, actually. I came across this article a few days ago and God's timing is just perfect...it was just the reminder I needed, that God is with Mackenzie everywhere she goes.
As parents, we can't see everything, be everywhere, or know all that goes on each day in the lives of our kids, but God can. He sees, and knows, and is there. And we can trust Him to take care of our loved ones, even better than we can.
Praying God's protection over Mackenzie every day!
This is how I really feel...
And this...
But I'm so happy for her too!
I will not live in worry...I will not walk in fear.

Cheer Clinic

Every year the cheerleaders do a cheer clinic for the elementary girls on the day we are out of school for parent/teacher conferences. This is a big fundraiser, and everyone loves it. Parents come at the end of the morning to watch the girls perform a few of the things the cheerleaders teach them. This was a very busy day...after cheer clinic, we had to hurry back to Edmond in time for Mackenzie to take her driving test to get her license, and then the girls had hair appointments in Norman after that. I really feel like I can't catch my breath, life is moving at such a fast pace most of the time.
