Tale As Old As Time

After what felt like forever, it was finally time for Beauty & the Beast! YEA!! They were only one week away from the performance last year when covid shut everything down and they didn't get to do it. Mackenzie was so very sad about that. But here we are, over a year later, and it is happening! Mackenzie was in the ensemble, which I loved, because she got to be a part of most of the songs. I went to a few practices last year, so I sort of knew what to expect, but the actual performance just blew me away! All of these kids are so talented! And of course I am so very proud of Mackenzie! The first two performances happened on Friday (the day after we got back from DC)...there was one in the morning for Elementary & one in the afternoon for Secondary. It was such a fun day, the performances were both great, and I couldn't wait for our family to all come for the show the next night!
Miriam, Sarah, Daelyn & Mackenzie
Mackenzie's #1 fan...
Oh wait, no...that's me! I'm definitely her #1 fan!
Miriam's mom sent me this pic of the girls in her PreK classroom, in between performances. I love it!
Here are some pics from the afternoon performance for Secondary. I think because it was her peers, Mackenzie was most nervous about this one.
Connie & GMa came to the afternoon show.
Sweet friends!

Colonial Day for "Mr. President"

Jonah had Colonial Day at school while we were gone on the trip, so GMa got him all ready for it. (Big thanks to my friend Kayla for this costume!) Jonah told GMa that he felt like a President when he put his elbow up like this! Haha! Love that boy! Also, he was rocking the Converse with his colonial costume, because they were told to wear comfortable shoes. Lol! I was sad when I thought this was something I was missing out on, but parents weren't actually able to go anyway. I love all of the pictures Mrs. Whitten took for us though. They got to rotate to all of these different stations & it looks like they had a very fun time!

Let's Go Home!

What a wonderful trip...so many great memories & so much fun...but I think we were all ready to go home by the time Thursday rolled around. We were definitely missing Mackenzie and Jonah and ready to all be together again. We had an afternoon flight, so we ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel before heading to the airport. Yum! I love this picture of Brian & Madi so much. Flying with a baby is always a little stressful, but Jack did pretty good. And I think Madi has decided that flying isn't so bad after all!
I love the sign in the OKC airport that says "Welcome Home, where it all feels a little easier." How true that is! This was not exactly a relaxing trip at all, but it was worth every effort and every dollar spent. We will treasure these memories of Madison's 6th grade Government Tour forever!
Here is the QUIK Video of our whole trip...these are always a lot of work, but I love them so much!
Just good ol' home cookin'!
His nap didn't last nearly long enough...
This helped...
For a few minutes at least...
Well, hi Jack!
YESSSS!!!
Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain! Such a beautiful sight!
