Jack's 1st Trip to the Library

I took Jack to the Library for the first time ever, and I think it's safe to say that he loved it! We read some books, Jack ran up and down the aisles, and we played with some toys. I can hardly stand the cuteness of these pictures. Since Jack was such a surprise, this season is that much sweeter because I didn't think I would get to experience 1st's like this with a little one again.
"Your son will hold your hand for a little while but your heart for a lifetime."
So. True.
I think it's safe to say there will be many trips to the Library in our future!
Jack LOVES books!
The look on his face when I told him it was time to leave...hahaha...not really, but the caption fits so perfectly!

Jonah's Basketball Season

I can't believe it, but Jonah was old enough to play in the Destiny league with CHA this year. They split the teams a little differently than in the past, and it was a mix of 3rd and 4th graders on his team. They practiced at Capitol Hill Baptist Church and his coach was Brad Couser. This season was definitely more competitive and challenging than what Jonah has experienced in the past. He didn't get to play all that much, but he had a fun time anyway and that's what matters most! It's been a few years since we've been in the Destiny league, and I forgot how LOOOONNNGGG the seasons are. They started games at the beginning of December & didn't wrap up until mid-February.
We always have the best fans!
Oh man this makes me laugh...we had to tell Jonah not to sit over there looking like he was passed out, not paying attention to anything.
I think Jonah's favorite part of basketball season was probably getting to ride to practice with Owen and Barrett, and eating Little Caesar's every time. =0) Since I had to pick Mackenzie up from play practice at the school at the exact time Jonah's practice ended, it took me and Brian to get everyone home on Tuesdays.
hahahaha! (At least he was watching the court instead of leaning back with his eyes closed!)
This is the "please stop taking my picture" fake smile look...

Homecoming Week

The last week of January was basketball homecoming dress-up week. Like I always say, I love it...and I hate it! I basically told them if they couldn't come up with it on their own, it's not happening. It's usually a lot of work and money, but the kids were creative and did a great job dressing up with things we already had this year. Yea!  The only thing I bought was the headbands and glasses for 50's day for the girls. The theme days were Bikers vs. Surfers, CHA Shirt Day, Mathletes vs. Athletes, 1950's vs. In your 50's, and Cowboys vs. City.  For Bikers vs. Surfers, Jonah grabbed his bike helmet and decided that qualified him as a "biker." Anything to be able to wear sweatpants to school! Ha!
Here's what they came up with! My favorite was probably cowboy day, because they all 3 looked so cute. The girls were pretty adorable in their 50's day outfits too though!
We love our school! Go Crusaders!!
I could only get Jonah to wear the suspenders long enough to take this picture. He refused to wear them to school.
Mackenzie nailed this!
Our little athlete was looking pretty cute!
This was my fav though!
