Fun Stuff in January

January was a fun, somewhat relaxing month for us. We at least got to stay at home, without traveling anywhere, for the whole entire month. I must say that I did enjoy not having to pack & unpack our stuff for a while. We spent a lot of time playing hide-and-seek in the dark, our new favorite family activity! Even Jonah likes it, and thinks it's funny when we find someone. He's not a very good hider though, and always gives us away by "talking." These are just some random pic's from January. I can't even count how many times I thought to myself, "Oh, I"m SO glad I am not reliving last January again." I was so sick at the beginning of my pregnancy and thought January would never end. It didn't seem to last nearly as long this year. In fact, the days seem to fly by and everyone is growing up far too quickly. I wish I could just hit pause and keep things the way they are for a while. Sadly, it doesn't work like that though, so we will just keep making the most of each day and look forward to all of the fun we will have in the future! * This is the lamest blog post title ever, but for the life of me I can't think of anything better, and I'm tired and ready for bed...so "fun stuff in January" it is!
Watching sister color...
Jonah already has trouble fitting those chubby legs in his bumbo seat!
Who needs pants?! It wasn't bothering her a bit...
I had a lap full of love right there!
I think Daddy needs some new socks!
The girls and Kinley Easterwood spent a few hours in the youth room with Brian while Connie and I went to Kari's birthday lunch at The Bistro. They made a "Happy Birthday" video for her. Of course Mackenzie would be front and center, singing the solo. That girl cracks me up! I do wonder what awesome plans God has for her future!

Another made up song

Now that's some static!
One of the teenage girls told Madison that she reminded her of the littlest girl chipmunk, Eleanor. So, after church Madison informed me that her name wasn't Madison anymore, it was Eleanor. All day long when I called her by name, "Madi" she would remind me, "Mommy, I'm not Madi...I'm Eleanor." Thankfully that wore off pretty quickly! She would be a very cute Eleanor, anyway!
Here are some snowman crafts Madison made at school! I love our snowman family!
We start many mornings like this...with feet going both directions in the middle of our bed.
Sleepy head!
I started doing Crossfit the second week in January. I have never done any kind of exercise program like this, so I spent much of the month extremely sore and feeling like I might just die! I am excited about it though, and hope this helps get me back on track and back to my normal pre-pregnancy weight.
Look how beautifully all of those babies are dressed...they must be going to a ball with their Mommy!
Poppa came up to watch one of Mackenzie's basketball games, and we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch afterwards.
I really don't have an explanation for why she was doing this...except that it was a pretty day and I let the girls play outside, just to discover that they were playing in MUD and Mackenzie decided to give herself a mustache. Really?! As prissy as she is, I couldn't believe she smeared mud all around her mouth like this.
Daddy got a new electric guitar, and he spent many MANY hours practicing in our living room. He decided that since the amp is black and the guitar is red, it matched our living room perfectly and it became a permanent part of the room. Even though it was loud, Jonah would just sleep right through it. He is not affected by loud noises much at all.

Jonah Swings!

Once again we have had a very mild winter, so we have enjoyed some pretty days outside. At 5 months old, Jonah got to swing for the first time, and he loved it...once he decided it wasn't scary. When I gave him the first push, he had this look of terror on his face like, "What's happening to me?!" He didn't cry though, when he saw that I was smiling and not worried about it. It's so cute when he does that...it's like he's looking to me to see how he should respond. He does it when he hears loud noises too. He looked so very cute in that baby swing, and of course I took LOTS of pictures! I just can't hardly believe he is 5 months old already.
Madison thought it was pretty neat that she was getting to swing with brother!

LOVE! These socks were my favorite!
Love the straightened, stiff legs!

Playing is Hard Work!

Jonah was playing in his Lion King bouncer while I worked on cookies in the kitchen, and all of a sudden it got very quiet...I looked over and he was sound asleep. It was so sweet, but it also made me a little sad, because I was working instead of holding him. I know that it is time for me to start doing cookies again, and I am thankful to be able to work from home, but it still takes time away from my babies. He didn't seem to mind too much though...he looks pretty comfortable to me. He loves this new toy that he got for Christmas. It is right by the window and he loves looking outside, especially when the girls are out there playing. This little lion is also one of his favorite toys.
Jonah has the longest, prettiest eyelashes. People comment on them all the time.
