February Fun Pic's

These are just some random pictures I took during February, mostly with my phone. I felt so terrible that I didn't take hardly any pictures with my camera...yep, it was that bad! Oh, I'm SO ready to have this morning sickness behind me. I don't mean to complain so much, but this has been so hard on me...

Mackenzie was thoroughly entertained by how long this french fry was...it was hilarious really! She just started laughing & laughing...and then she said, "Mommy, you have to take a picture of this!" So I did... =0) Big Foot! We have a picture of Mackenzie a few hours after she was born, with her little toes spread out just like this. I love that they look exactly the same, only much, much bigger now! We have been working to get things a little more organized around the house, and Brian has been working to make more room in the attic & shed so we can store more stuff. He let the girls crawl up in the attic with him one night, and they thought it was so fun! He tried telling Mackenzie this would be her new room when the baby comes...she said, "OKAY!" Mackenzie made this for "Crazy Hat Day" at ELP. G-Ma got these lip suckers for the girls' for Valentine's Day!This has been one of the mildest winter's I remember ever having. The weather has been beautiful, for February, so we have been playing outside a lot. This was the day Mack had pink eye...she worked & worked on this and said, "Look Mommy, it's the wall of Jericho!Poor little Madi gets carsick...the trips back and forth to and from Newcastle are hard for her. I have finally found some anti-nausea medicine that helps a little bit, thankfully. On one of our recent trips to Newcastle, I posted something like this on FB after I got there: "Morning sickness Momma + Carsick Kid on the side of the turnpike = REALLY BAD!" We even travel with a plastic bowl, but even if she has it in her lap, she manages to miss the bowl completely & throw up all over herself and everything else. I don't get it!This was also the day pink eye struck...(thankfully Mack was the only one to get it!) We stayed home from church & had a picnic on the trampoline.
Here are some video's of the girls singing Happy Birthday to G-Ma! LOVE!!!

BounceU!

After visiting the Fire Station, we went to BounceU & ate lunch and bounced for the last part of the field trip. Mackenzie wasn't nearly as timid as the last time we were there. It still took a little bit of convincing, but she finally went up on the big slides & was very brave. Looking at these pictures, I can tell that she wasn't feeling 100% well...her little eyes were still red and itchy. She loved it when Ms. Anne went down the big slide with her! Here are a few (very quick) video's of Mack coming down the slides.

Field Trip to the Fire Station

Mackenzie's ELP class took a field trip to the Bixby Fire Station this past Thursday. I wasn't sure if Mack was going to get to go or not, because the day before she woke up with pink eye in both eyes. Not fun! But, after being on an antibiotic eye drop for 24 hrs, the dr said she wasn't contagious and he cleared her to go. I was SO glad, because she was looking forward to this and would have been just devastated if she had to miss it. Field Trips are just too fun...I think I was looking forward to it as much as she was. I wasn't about to miss this photo op, no matter how sick I felt! =0)

The kids have been learning all about safety this month. Mackenzie even earned her "Oklahoma Safety License." The requirements were: 911 Test, Seat Belt Safety, Bicycle Safety, Stop Drop & Roll, Smoke Detector Drill, and Community Helper Worksheets. We have talked about what to do if there is a fire at our house, and what our "safe meeting place" is outside. Mackenzie has asked several times, "But that won't really happen, right Mommy?" It makes me feel good to know that she would know what to do in case of an emergency.

They stood very still & listened to the fireman. He was very serious & I think they were a little bit intimidated... Kinley & Mackenzie I spy a cute little face peaking out at me! I snapped this picture too slow...that hat was heavy & Ms. Janis only left it on for a few seconds! At the end, they had all of the kids step outside & they turned on the sirens. Mackenzie has always been afraid of sirens & very loud noises, but I covered her ears and she did just fine. She & Bella are very close friends...it makes me sad to think that they won't be in school together again next year. I mentioned to Mackenzie the other day that next year she would go to a different school, with new friends, and she started crying...she is very sentimental & emotional about things. I know it will be a little bit hard for her, but she will adjust just fine, I'm sure. Mackenzie is so proud of her Safety License & even found an old wallet of G-Ma's to put it in! How cute is she?!

True Love Waits, Girls!

On Sunday morning, after church, we had a special time for our students who chose to make the "True Love Waits" commitment. This was such an important part of mine & Brian's lives, that it holds a very special place in our hearts. In a society where sexual purity seems non-exsistent, it is so refreshing to see students who want to be obedient to the Lord in this area of their lives. As we were about to leave to go home, Mackenzie grabbed one of the commitment cards off the table and said, "Daddy, can I have one of these?" It was such a sweet reminder that as parents, we should be praying for our daughters' sexual purity, and teaching them right from wrong, even at this young age. We live in a dark world, and it is only going to get worse as they get older. Oh, that they would choose to follow God & make this commitment in their own hearts when the time comes:

"Believing that true love waits, I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a Biblical marriage relationship."

Purity Weekend Fashion Show

This year for Damascus Weekend, we did a Purity Conference. One of the really fun parts of the weekend was the "Trip Through Time Fashion Show." We are so blessed with adults who love the students at STBC & who will do fun, silly things like this to invest in their lives. Jeff & Debbie Steen, Chris & Ana French, Ted & Jerri Kersh, Mark & Kari Romoser, and Bob & Bettye Ball were our fashion models...oh, and we can't forget the "couple of the future," Walker Bradford & our very own Mackenzie Baldwin! Everyone looked their part & they were all so "in character" as they were introduced with music from their decade. Brian had asked me to kind of orchestrate this, and I was happy to do it, but it was a lot of work pulling it all together. I was literally rewriting the script at 11:30 the night before. (with the help of my mom!) Probably the funnest part of this whole thing for me, other than watching the actual thing play out, was shopping for costumes with Kari a few days before. I will never, ever forget these words: "an 80's man." That's all I will say about it, but it was hilarious!

Mackenzie was very excited about getting to be in the fashion show & she loved her costume! I found this shirt & skirt at Target, I spray painted some snowboots & leggings silver, I found these sunglasses at Ehrle's party store & I made her headband out of foil. Very futurustic, if you ask me! Walker looked so cute in his little astronaut suit too. Mackenzie & Walker are good friends, and the other day Mackenzie came home and said, "Mommy, Walker said I am his girlfriend." This isn't the first time we've heard things like this from her about boys, but once again, we had a little chat about how we have boys who are friends, but not "boyfriends." I think we're in for it with this one! Mackenzie's posing for pictures really makes me laugh! The only problem is that I can't choose which ones to keep, and which to delete, so I usually just keep them all! This was a ton of fun, but I was very relieved when it was over!Pastor Ted is one Groovy Dude!Everyone really cheered for them! Okay, here goes our little modeling session:LOVED the boots!
