"Let's Say Prayers, Jack"

Lately we have been saying prayers downstairs in the living room before bed. We don't make it a practice to kneel around the ottoman, but when we say, "Let's say prayers, Jack," he takes off running for the ottoman and assumes this position right here...it is the funniest, sweetest thing! He is ready!!
I was just thinking though...am I this ready and anxious to pray? Hmm...we can learn a lot from a one year old!

Fine Arts Gala

CHA's Fine Arts Gala was Monday evening. Mackenzie was asked to read one of her poems, and at the last minute Mrs. Hansel decided to have them do Five Forever from Little Women. That was a fun surprise! It wasn't quite the same without costumes, but it was still fun to watch it again. Madi is in Art Club so she helped with a station for part of the night. I am so thankful for the Fine Arts department at our school! The Seniors also did a preview of next years play to announce what it is going to be...Robin Hood...I am not overly excited about that, especially since it isn't a musical, but I'm sure it will still be great. I hope they go back to a musical the next year though!
Each class made a piece of artwork to auction at the Gala. This was Jonah's class. His cross is in there somewhere!
Mackenzie didn't get the memo that it was okay to wear jeans!

Daddy's Home!

Mackenzie had another OK Baptist Youth choir concert on Sunday evening in south OKC. I dropped her off to practice & took the boys across the street to Earlywine Park. It brought back a lot of teenage memories going there! Brian and I used to play tennis there, and I also remember having youth group gatherings under the pavilion at the park. Brian flew back from Texas and met us over there. I was so glad to have him back home! Jack was too...he is crazy about his Daddy!

Just Me & the Boys

Brian flew from Belize to Odessa, TX for a DNOW, and the girls were at Big Weekend with our church, so it was just me and the boys for a few days. I told Jonah I would take him to do something fun and he said "Can we go to the library?" Oh my heart!! YES, sweet boy! I will take you to the library! (And how about I take you to Target and buy you a $170 Lego set too?!) He actually has been saving gift cards and money for this, so I just added a little to help him get it. Then we went to Cici's and back home to watch 15 episodes of Camp Cretaceous and put together Legos. It was definitely a Jonah-Approved kind of day! I loved every minute too! These boys have my heart!
This boy loves Magic Treehouse books!
He didn't waste any time!
