Thanksgiving at the Lake

We went to the lake for Thanksgiving with the Baldwin's over the weekend. I think everyone's favorite part was the big campfire we made! There aren't a whole lot of opportunities for us to all be at the lake at the same time, so these are special moments for sure. The kids had fun collecting sticks and throwing them in the fire & making s'mores! The next day Grandma Baldwin made a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, the boys and kids played football, and we just had a great time being together! We are blessed with the best family!
The next day...
How precious are they on the golf cart?! I'm so glad Jonah has a cousin his age to grow up with!

A Quiet Thanksgiving at Home

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. G-Ma was on a cruise with Rex's family, and we were going to the lake for Thanksgiving with the Baldwin's the weekend after, so we spent a quiet Thanksgiving Day at home. I actually really loved it! We decided to decorate our Christmas tree the night before, and then we slept in and had a big breakfast the next morning. Who needs turkey and dressing when you can have chocolate chip pancakes and bacon instead?! After breakfast, we decorated the house a little more, and Daddy put Christmas lights on the house. (Thankfully he didn't fall off the roof!) Then later in the afternoon, I decided to go "Black Friday" shopping, even though I was on my own without my mom. It definitely wasn't nearly as much fun without her!
We have so much to be thankful for this year.
Our Thanksgiving "feast!"
I had to video the Rockettes for G-Ma in case she didn't get to see the parade from the cruise ship!
I LOVE having the house decorated for Christmas!
He loves me!
Our roof really is steep...I'm so glad he didn't hurt himself!
Isn't it so pretty?! I love it!
This was the line at Target...wrapped all the way around the back of the store!

Trimming the Tree

Since we were home over Thanksgiving this year, we decided to go ahead and decorate our tree early. I LOVEEEEE having my house decorated for Christmas! It's always a lot of work putting up all of the decorations, but when its all done and we can cuddle up on the couch with the glow of the Christmas lights all around us, it is so worth it!
One of my favorite Christmas decorations each year is the ornament that G-Ma gets us! This years may be my favorite ever...Madi's holding a stuffed animal, Mack has the cookies & Jonah's cuddling with Momma...pretty accurate!
Here are some pics of our tree decorating fun! We don't have an elegant tree...its not what many would call "beautiful," but it is covered (literally) with ornaments that each have sentimental value to our family. And I love it that way!
I know a lot of people think its terrible to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, but I think its brilliant...that way its done & you can enjoy the decorations longer!
No words...
For every good picture we take, rest assured...there are plenty like this too!
The best part...cuddling on the couch watching a movie with the lights glowing!
Decorating the tree is exhausting...Jonah didn't make it through the movie! Look at his beautiful eyelashes...
