The Tooth Saga

The process of Mackenzie's top tooth falling out was just that...a process. A long process. I tried many, many times to wiggle it or try to pull it and she would just freak out every time. It was just barely hanging in there and she earned herself the nickname "Snag" by G-Ma! I mean, it seemed for weeks like it would just fall out at any time. So needless to say, when it pretty much fell out on its own at the Tulsa fair, we were all elated!!! This was her 4th tooth to lose (the first 3 were on the bottom) but for some reason this one was harder to get out than the others.
Here are some pic's and video's of the tooth saga...

Here I was trying to get her to let me pull her tooth...she ran and hid under the kitchen table!
Here is another video that was taken on a different night.
Finally, thanks to a bump and a bottled water, Mackenzie's tooth was knocked loose and she was able to pull it right out by herself!!! Judging by the smile on her face, I would say that she was very relieved!
Here is an interview about the tooth...I LOVE the way she laughs after she says "I pulled out my own tooth!"
We came right home and Facetimed with G-Ma before tucking her tooth under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy!
The next morning...
The Tooth Fairy left a new journal and $2!!!
(Just FYI...we have fun with the Tooth Fairy and other make-believe characters like Santa, but we are honest with our kids about it. They know that it is just pretend and we like it that way!)

Yep, I Sure Did...

Jonah, when you are looking at this in 10-15 years, I am sorry in advance! Please forgive me!
Yep, I sure did...I know Jonah will not appreciate these pictures at all when he gets older, but I just couldn't help myself! I saw this cute idea on Pinterest...but, I have to say that my little pumpkin butt photo session was pretty much a total failure! I was trying to set up a little spot by our fence with the pumpkins, but the paint on his bottom wasn't quite dry and he kept trying to sit down or crawl off. I did snap a few quick pic's, but Jonah was absolutely not cooperative in any way. I mean, who can blame him?! I'm pretty sure if anyone could have filmed this whole fiasco, we could win a prize on America's Funniest Home videos or something! It was quite comical! As I'm sitting here blogging this, I am laughing because of the recent FB posts I have seen where grown people recreate pictures of themselves that were taken when they were babies...this one should never EVER be recreated by an adult! hahaha! Still, I hope these sweet little pumpkin cheeks bring a smile to your face!
He's outta there! Enough is enough!

Tulsa Fair

We went to the Tulsa Fair with Daddy and the teenagers on Monday afternoon/evening. We usually don't do rides, but the girls wanted to do it so badly, so we gave in! They rode 3 or 4 rides, we played a few games, they jumped on the trampolines, ate corn dogs, and the highlight of the night...Mackenzie FINALLY lost her front tooth that has been loose forever! My camera battery died 5 minutes after we got there, so I took most of these pictures with our phones. Grr!! We spent way too much money, but it was a lot of fun and the memories made were worth far more than that $$ we spent!
This is what cute looks like!
Madison went first and just jumped away!
Mack's turn...she was a little more timid. The lady kept having to help her bounce! I don't blame her...that goes pretty high!
It made her head hurt. =0(
They all ended up with a stuffed animal at the end of the night! (This is the last picture of Mackenzie with her top baby teeth...the tooth episode happened just a few minutes after this.)
We were on our way out of the fair when all of a sudden Mackenzie says, "Momma, my tooth!!!" kind of in a panic. She bumped it when she was trying to get a drink of water and it was just barely hanging in there. I said, "Well, pull it!" So she reached in and pulled it right out! I was SO proud of her...and you can see by this look on her face that she was so happy that it was out. Every time we tried to wiggle it or talk about pulling it, she would get very upset. I'm not sure who was happier to finally have it out...me or her!
