Sweet Little Dreamer

Two things Jonah loves...his trains & sleeping in our bed! It just doesn't get much sweeter than this!
We had the Easterwood's over for dinner & a late night game of Risk. Jonah made it until about 11:30 before he passed out in our bed while watching Mickey Mouse. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures before moving him to his bed.
This little boy has my heart forever!
I wonder what he's dreaming about...

My Hair Saloner & Artist Fashionista

Today was an unusually beautiful January day, so the girls and I had a little picnic lunch outside while Jonah took a nap.  It's these moments that I love the most, when the tv is off, the phone is put away, and the toys are out of sight. You'd think since I stay home with them, this would happen all of the time, but in the busyness of life, sadly it doesn't. As we laid on the blanket in our backyard, I asked them what they wanted to be when they grow up. Madison said "a hair saloner!" and Mackenzie said, "An artist and fashionista in Paris!" Bahaha! That is SO Mackenzie! I told her that was way too far away from me, and that she would have to come up with another plan. She said she would just hop on an airplane and come visit me for the day once a week. If only it worked that way... My heart was happy, soaking in the sweetness of this moment with the girls. But it was also sad knowing that one day all too soon, they really will be old enough to be a hair saloner and an artist/fashionista. If only time could just stand still or even slow down a little! I know God must have great things planned for their lives.
On a funny note (hilarious actually!) Mackenzie lightened the mood when she tooted and when I said, "What was that?!" she said, "My smell of victory!" Bahahaha! I mean seriously, the girl is hilarious!
These girls say the funniest things all of the time...the other day I overheard this conversation:
Madison (to Mackenzie) : "You're lying!"
Mackenzie: "No I'm not! It's a hypothesis. Do you know what a hypothesis is?"
Madison: "It means you're positive."
Mackenzie: "No, it's your best guess!"
They keep me laughing all of the time and I am so very blessed and thankful to be their Momma!

Jan Misc.

Here are some misc. pic's from January! There are some really funny pictures and stories in here, so make sure to go all the way to the bottom of the post!

It seems like January is the month that we stay home more than any other, just because it's cold and the craziness of December is over so we need to wind down. Pretty much every night during the month of January, Brian and I spent hours watching episode after episode of LOST after the kids went to bed. This was our third time to watch the entire series, and we liked it as much as ever. We went through lots of popcorn and hot chocolate!
My FOUR kids!
Jonah is our little lefty! He does pretty much everything with his left hand.
Those lips...
Here is some of Jonah's artwork from January! He is quite good at coloring!
I found these matching shirts for us to wear to Disney World in April. Can't wait!!!
Mackenzie made this necklace for Jonah to give to his friend, Jewel! So cute! Two years old and already giving girls jewelry...we're in trouble!
It's just wrong when you go to Jason's Deli and the ice cream machine is broken. Just wrong.
So we have just a few of these book/playmats with little characters...the girls were being very creative and set them up like this. I was impressed and thought it deserved a picture! =0)
Jonah is looking so grown up...I don't like it!
I always think of my dad when this happens! He used to stick his toes out of his socks and just wait for it to irritate me! =0)
He played himself to sleep!
Madison saw this ad that we got in the mail and said, "Mommy, this looks like you!" Bahaha! Uh....thanks???
I'm so glad they have each other! That's a nice "chair" Mackenzie is sitting on!
G-Ma left notes for us to find one Sunday when she left while we were at church. She cleaned up the kids' rooms for them!
And...she cleaned up my closet for me! There were clothes strung everywhere! She's a really great fairy godmother!
Curls...
Sometimes having big sisters is just hard...they put a build-a-bear tutu on him! I was rescuing him from them!
The Wii is providing hours of dancing entertainment! I didn't anticipate Jonah loving it so much and actually being able to follow along!
Jonah got to take a book to read at ELP!
We had a prayer service in the Chapel one Sunday night and when it was time to break up and pray, this is what they did. So sweet!
We had the Easterwood's over to play RISK a few times and it was so much fun! We won't talk about who won...
I conquered Asia and Australia and still didn't win. That's just wrong!
We are super, super excited for our friends, the Easterwood's! They are going to have a baby girl!!! We already called dibs on an arranged marriage for Jonah! Here are the girls finding out about it.
We are nowhere near ready to potty train, but I thought it would be fun to try big boy undies on Jonah! Oh my stars...those are some cute buns!
Since Madison doesn't have school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, she gets to hang out with me and Daddy. On this day, we had lunch at the Bistro!
This was another "play til you drop" kind of day! Hahaha! By the way, I have given up on picking up the playroom. It pretty much stays in a constant state of chaos!
Mackenzie went to Natalie's house to celebrate her birthday!
Mackenzie taped this sheet of Bible verses to memorize on her mirror.
Lord, let her always have this willingness and desire to learn your word!
OK Country Donuts!
I thought this sword donut was a good idea, but I didn't realize what a mess that black icing would be! Or that Jonah wouldn't want to touch it with his hands!
Madison and Annie get to share a reading buddy!
This was the nightmare trip to the eye dr. It was literally so bad that I had to call Brian and have him leave work to come help me. We just went for Mack's eye apt, but then decided to do Jonah and then Madison. Well, Jonah completed freaked out, which sent Madison into a screaming, crying fit. She was so mad at me for making Jonah get eye drops, and then we made her do it. It took three people to hold her down for eye drops. I have never ever seen her like that.
Mackenzie was begging to buy new glasses that the eye dr said she didn't really need, and Jonah wouldn't leave the glasses alone. By the time it was over, I was completely spent! I'm feeling anxious just typing about it! Hahaha! Thankfully, Mackenzie doesn't need her glasses anymore and Madison's eyes are perfect. We did find out that Jonah will probably be in glasses within a year. He has the same eye issues that Mackenzie had. I can't imagine him keeping them on well, but they sure will be cute!
Everyone was happy when we got back in the van with suckers!
This is how Jonah likes to sleep in our bed...completely sideways!
Pretty little mermaid!
