Jonah was invited to go snow tubing with some friends at the ballpark over Christmas Break. He wasn't too sure about the actual tubing part, but it didn't take long for him to figure out that it was very fun! We've done this before with GMa, but it had been a few years. Jonah's friends, Casyn, Owen, Asher and Kason were all there. Mackenzie got to hang out with her friend Sarah, and Madi got to hang out with her friend Makayla, so it was fun for everyone. Even the moms got in on the snow tubing! Jack stayed home with Daddy, which was so nice for me. Any time we do things like this, it makes me so thankful for the friends God has given us to do life with!

Who Needs a Bedroom?
So we still don't have a firm plan for what to do about a bedroom for Jack. The closet under the stairs is working just fine for all of his toys at least! I love the way it feels to have things cleaned out and organized. He may not have a bedroom, but he isn't lacking in the toy department!
The sleeping situation with Jack is difficult, to say the least. It really hasn't been working to have his bed in our room, because he knows we are right there & he just wants to sleep in our bed. And I'm just not ready to move him upstairs with Jonah yet. Sooooo, we decided to try moving his bed into our closet for a while. I really feel bad about sticking our baby in the back of the closet to sleep...but we are going to see how it goes. The first few nights, I sat in the closet with him until he fell asleep. I just can't stand the thought of him crying in that dark closet! Jack has definitely been our most challenging baby when it comes to sleeping. I know a lot of that has to do with the fact that he doesn't have his own bedroom. When I get flustered and frustrated by it, I just try to remember that this is a short season of life, and one day he will be sleeping in his own bed, not in our room, ALL NIGHT!
Until then...

One Little Snip & Two Beauties
Another thing we did during Christmas Break was get haircuts. Even Jack got a haircut...sort of! I don't think it actually qualifies as his first "real" haircut, because it was literally only ONE snip across the front, just to get the hair out of his eyes. I just couldn't cut those sweet blonde curls off yet!
And just look at these girls! I cried real tears this week, thinking about how fast they are growing up. They are beautiful girls, inside and out! They look way too old after these haircuts though, and I'm not sure I like it!
Just couldn't part with these sweet blonde curls...
Jonah was there too, but he didn't have to get a haircut!

The Week After Christmas
The week between Christmas and New Years is always kind of weird. There's always this mix of let-down that Christmas is over & relief at the same time. I'm always a little sad when Christmas ends, but there's no doubt that I'm exhausted and ready for the slower pace that the week after Christmas brings. We slept in, played with new toys, put Legos together, did a little cleaning and organizing, had some fun with friends, watched Sing 2 at the movie theatre, and eventually took down the Christmas decorations. We definitely all enjoyed the break & loved not having any homework!
I was planning to leave the decorations up for a while longer, but then I decided I wanted to get the house back in order while the kids were still at home to help me.
We all LOVED this movie! It was every bit as good as the first one, if not better!
Check out my clean pantry! (It won't stay that way for long, so it is worthy of a picture!)
The girls both got these new lights for their bedrooms. I would have been all about this when I was their age.
I tackled Jonah's room one day...if only it would stay this clean all of the time!
Jack LOVES his slide! It didn't take long for him to figure out how to climb up it. I mean, its just boring to slide down like normal every time!
Jonah put this together 99% by himself!
The finished product...
My friend Stacey gave us this rocking horse for Jack & he loves it!
