Splash Camp

The girls begged to do Splash Camp at OCS this summer, so I decided that we could miss the second FC set up week so they could go. I want so badly for them to continue to make friends and feel at home at OCS, so I think it was a good investment of our time and money. Mrs. Bass is the Librarian and she is a ton of fun! Together with a few other teachers, they put together Splash Camp, which is 3 days long for a few hours each day. The kids do art, math & science projects, and just have a lot of fun! Madison was super excited to do this with her BFF, Adlee. There were no other 4th grade girls during the afternoon session with Mackenzie, but there were a few boys there that she knew and I think she still had a fun time! Jonah may get to go next summer, but he just had to hang with Momma while the girls went and had fun this time, This was a great kickoff to our summer! We also spent time in the mornings at the local library stocking up on books to read over the summer.
The teachers took pics and uploaded them each day so the parents could see what the kids had been doing! Of course I appreciated that!

Memorial Day Weekend

After spending a few days setting up at Falls Creek, we got to spend most of Memorial weekend at home. The weekend started out with me going with Mom and Poppa to put flowers out at the cemetery's in Gracemont, Anadarko & Newcastle on Saturday. It's not exactly a fun thing to do, but it is very important to my family, so I'm happy to do it. It's good to take some time to honor and remember the people that I love so much that aren't here anymore.
On Sunday afternoon we went to see a movie (I'm so far behind on blogging that I don't remember which one now) and on Monday we decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was SO. SO. HOT. But we still had a great time! The highlight was the elephant show. Poppa called and invited us over to their house for a cookout that afternoon, so we did that after the zoo. It was great to just have some time to be together and do what we wanted to, before camp started!
None of these movies are what we saw...haha!
Headed to the zoo...
Not happy, because it was hot...whose kid is this?!
hahahahaha!!! Poor sweet girl, I felt your pain!!!
hahahahahaha!! Yep, they are both mine! #dontdoheat
Jonah wasn't phased by the heat though...maybe its a girl thing?
Madison found a roly poly and named it (something) and carried it around all day. To the point that it stopped moving and I had to convince her to let it go so she wouldn't figure out it was dead. Eek! It was almost a traumatic experience.
Mack got to be a volunteer for the elephant show.
They managed to convince us to go into a gift shop (OF COURSE) and came out with these things...
In between the zoo and going to Poppa & Louise's, we met Grandma Baldwin at Kohl's to buy some clothes for summer. She totally hooked us up with clothes for the kids! So thankful for that! Jonah also found this Paw Patrol thing that he NEEDS for his birthday.
He's ready to go now!
Loving on Chloe at Poppa & Louise's!
Playing in a tent in the backyard!
