Tubing Fun!...?

The girls thought they wanted to go tubing...these pictures just crack me up! They tell the story so well. They were all excited & happy getting into the tube with Daddy...all smiles and waving, until the boat took off and they started to move...the looks on their faces are priceless. Don't worry, we didn't let them stay scared for long. Their ride didn't last more than about 2 minutes, but I was so proud of them for trying! They were much happier once they were back in the boat. Madison and I went back to the house and took a nap, while Mack stayed out in the boat with everyone. She even got back on the tube later with Daddy, Bailey & Jareck. Maybe next summer, Madison will decide she wants to try tubing again. I think if I could do it with her, she would be okay. I definitely wasn't getting on a tube while 7 months pregnant though!

Family Fun at Lake Eufaula

On Friday, after VBS, we went to Lake Eufaula and spent the night. This was the first time in several years that the entire family was there at the same time. It was a lot of fun...we went swimming in the pool, took golf cart rides, ate a big breakfast, went tubing in the boat (that deserves its own blog post!), had "Daddy burgers," and popped fireworks. The girls always have so much fun with their cousins! I spent a lot of time inside, because I just get so hot and uncomfortable these days. I was really hoping the girls would be okay with the fireworks, but they were terrified once again, and wanted to stay inside. Brian's response was, "I hope our boy isn't such a wimp!" The real excitement happened the next day when they were doing smoke bombs...Jareck kept throwing them into the bushes and ended up catching them on fire. Uncle Stephen saved the day and put the fire out with his flip-flop, but Amy made a valliant effort by filling up the (tiny) sno-cone machine with water and trying to help out. It was really the funniest thing ever! I think most of the water spilled on the kitchen floor before she could even get outside with it. She just grabbed the first thing she could find and took off, when she heard everyone screaming, "FIRE!"

We always have so much fun at Grandma & Grandpa's house at the lake. While we were there, G-Ma spent the night with Uncle Clint & Aunt Abigail, and then hung out at our house until we got home Saturday evening. Well, she actually cleaned our house from top to bottom...she's the best! I love her so much and really don't know what I would do without her.

 

Grandma & Grandpa just bought the golf cart this summer, and the kids all had so much fun on it!

This was the smoke bomb experience...I SO wish I would have been snapping pictures of everyone going crazy when the bushes caught on fire...I definitely missed a great photo op!

Let me just say that this made me nervous...he was lighting those right by Madison's little fingers. She didn't get burned, but poor Bailey did...maybe we won't do smoke bombs next time!

Sharpie Shopping at Staples

This is totally random, but these pictures are just cute and needed their own blog post. During the week of VBS, G-Ma took the girls shopping at Staples one evening while Brian and I went to a parents meeting at Regent. And what did they buy?! Every color of Sharpie marker imaginable...yep, PERMANENT Sharpies! The rule is that they have to use them at the kitchen table, only with permission. So far, so good...no disasters yet! We even had to make a second trip to Staples a few days later to pick out the colors that they didn't get the first time around. I have to admit that I picked out a few Sharpies too...they get their love of markers from their Momma! The girls loved these baskets that were just their size, but they were completely wild running around the store with them. The Staples employees were probably glad to see us come and go! Pony even got to come along for the ride! 

This is the problem with taking 3 pictures of the same thing, to try to get 1 good one...I like them all and can't pick just one! Loving the leg pose Mack has going on. She looks SO big and grown up. Makes me sad!

This is a great picture to display Madison's personality these days...she is a handful for sure! Ornery as can be!

VBS at STBC

We went straight from Falls Creek, to VBS at G-Ma's church, to VBS at our church...can you say exhausting?! But FUN! I worked in Preschool Crafts again this year, and the funnest part was that G-Ma spent the week with us, so she worked in Preschool Crafts too! The girls were always so excited when they came into crafts, to see her there. Their favorite part was probably having her paint their feet blue. "Pony" came to VBS with Madison each day. I love the picture of Madison doing crafts, with Pony watching in the background. So cute! Then she decided Pony needed some pilot goggles too! Mackenzie had a blast and was so happy to be in class with her friends Bella, Josie, Kinley, and Abby. It was fun to watch her interact with her friends each day...she tends to be the ringleader and right in the front of the pack...imagine! One day she came home and said that she told Aiden she might marry him one day...but he said, "I am NOT marrying you!" I explained to her that boys aren't too into thinking about getting married when they are 5 years old! I was very tired at the end of each day...I tried to take it easy and not bend over too much, but that's kinda hard when you're doing Crafts with 75 preschoolers!

Mack's class came in after Madi's and they were always excited to see each other! I can't believe Mackenzie can pick Madison up like this...she only outweighs her by 6 lbs!

Ms. Barbara (Tuttle) does such a great job coordinating and organizing the Preschool Crafts!

This was on Thursday night, for "Family Night." We met in the Chapel and sang a few songs and then headed to the Gym and outside for snow cones and hot dogs.
