Hello, Port Aransas!

After driving all day, we made it to Port Aransas just before the sun set. The last time we were in Port Aransas was 6 years ago, the week before my Dad died. So...I was both looking forward to it, and also kind of dreading the memories it would stir up, remembering what that time was like. I chose not to focus on that though, and just enjoyed the week with my sweet family! I have so many childhood memories of Port Aransas, and riding the ferry is one of my favorites. My Dad usually drove through the night and made it to the ferry as the sun was coming up in the morning. I love these pics of the kids looking out the window! We were all so happy to get out of the van and put our feet in the water. Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin got there before we did and had the trailer all ready to go for us!
My 4 favorite humans!
I just had to throw this pic in there...this was from the last time we drove to Port Aransas! I made the girls little tents with their blankets. Look how little and precious Madi was!
Jonah was not a fan of walking in the dirty sand...lol!
Madison found a dead fish and picked it right up.
If we thought we were crammed into our Falls Creek room, that was nothing compared to staying in this trailer! Haha! It's a good thing we love each other so much!

When In Waco...

Brian gets the week after Falls Creek off, so we planned a trip to Port Aransas with Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin. We left on Monday morning and drove all day, stopping for lunch in Waco on our way. And when in Waco these days, a stop at Magnolia Market is a must! Mackenzie especially is a very big fan of Fixer Upper! We didn't have very long, but we stopped long enough to look around a little bit and grab a quick lunch and snow cones from the food trucks. I would have loved to shop, but the kids were hot and hungry and it just wasn't going to work. And I really wanted to go in the adorable little bakery, but the line was long and did I mention that it was H-O-T!! This is just one of those places that its fun to say you've been to!
We were thankful for these awesome umbrellas that helped give us some shade from the hot sun!
The kids enjoyed stretching out and relaxing on these fun chairs while they ate their lunch!
Surely I'm not the only one who thinks of Beetlejuice when looking at these chairs!

Madi's 1st Lords Supper

For as long as I can remember, when we have participated in the Lord's Supper, Madison has pouted and been SO sad that she couldn't do it too...she would even sneak and lick the last few drops of grape juice out of our cups when we were done. Haha! So when we showed up at church and she found out we were taking the Lord's Supper and she got to do it with us for the first time, she was a very happy girl!
I love observing the Lord's Supper...it is just such a sweet reminder of the amazing gift of Jesus' blood shed and his body broken on the cross so that we can have forgiveness and salvation!
Thank you, Jesus!
(I don't know if its really okay to be taking pictures during the Lord's Supper, but I just couldn't help myself!)
