A Lamp Unto My Feet

I love, love, love Bible journaling! It is so much fun & it really helps me to spend time in the Word! It has been very therapeutic and has helped me during this transition in our life. Someday I hope to have every single page in my Bible filled! What a neat way to look back and remember all the ways God spoke to me over the years! Here are a few of the recent things I have done.

Falls Creek: Here We Go!

Well, here we go...on this adventure that is called "spending the whole summer at Falls Creek!" I am excited and apprehensive at the same time! I love one week of camp every summer...not sure how I'm going to feel about EIGHT weeks! =0))) What an amazing thing for our kids to grow up doing each summer though! Sure, they are excited about endless ICEES, splashing at Boulder Springs, having our own golf cart to ride around in, hanging out in the Green Room, getting to make new friends, and doing all of the fun things that go along with camp. But what I am most excited about is that they are going to be surrounded by an atmosphere of learning to praise and worship and love the Lord with all of their hearts!
This was our first trip down to FC, for orientation/set up. Our kids really are amazing & able to handle "different" things in life. They are very resilient and easy-going for the most part! I like to think it's because they know that they are very loved, and that makes them happy!
Here are some pics of settling in during the first few days at Falls Creek.
Jonah made a new friend right away!
Andy stays in the room right below us...I'm sure he loved this!
Home, Sweet, Summer Home!!!
(It was better after I put my own touches on it!)
This really made me laugh!! Jonah wasn't as amused as I was!
One of our first adventures was to check out Devil's Bathtub...I mean, Boulder Springs! =0) It made me a nervous wreck, but the kids (and of course Brian) are excited about exploring here this summer!
Fun at one of the low ropes course areas...
Night One:
We are all tucked in nice and cozy into one room!
We had a little devotion time by Price Falls one morning.
I'm not sure if he was supposed to be doing this or not...eek!
Picking flowers for Momma!
Here is Mackenzie's portrait of me...pretty good! I love how she even put my sunglasses on top of my head!
We searched every single chair in the Tabernacle for the one that was dedicated to Brian Easterwood's father. Somewhere, among the 6,000+ seats, we missed it! But hey, it provided great entertainment (and a backache for me) for a while!
The girls were excited to find some other names they recognized!
Ted & Jerri Kersh
Pretty sure me and Sonic are going to become fast friends this summer!
The first of many ICEE's to come!
Jonah found this "play" phone in one of the drawers in our room. I don't think any of our kids have ever even seen a phone like this before!
More chair name searching...Mackenzie was elated when she found Governor Mary Fallin on one of the chairs! She learned all about her on the field trip to the Capitol building this Spring.
Jonah & his friend Ben, being silly!
One night we left the kids in the room while Brian and I went to staff worship. We left one of our phones with Mackenzie so she could text us if she needed to. I had to screen shot these texts, because they were so funny! I think Mackenzie is a very capable babysitter & will look forward to more of these opportunities soon! =0)
And I will end with this...this was a "Daddy Adventure" that happened while I was resting. They found this huge nest of Daddy Long-Leg spiders...ewwww!!! As much as they have talked about it, I'm pretty sure this is part of Falls Creek they are never going to forget!
