On Friday we went to Tulsa to see Dr. Raley for well checks. He didn't even know we had another baby, so it was fun to tell him about Jack! He is still our Pediatrician for the "big kids" but I knew I had to find someone in Edmond for Jack, because there are just too many appointments with a baby. I had these appointments scheduled a year ago, for well checks and sports physicals for the girls and Jonah. Before our appointment, we went to see the Easterwood's. I was bummed that we didn't have more time, but I actually had to take Jack to the doctor in Edmond earlier that morning to check on his jaundice, which only gave us about 30 minutes to see them. It was definitely not enough time, but at least they got to meet Jack!
After our appointments, we had lunch at Freddy's and then went to the Gathering Place park. Brian had never been there and he wanted to see it. It was an okay plan, except it was so HOT. Jack pretty much screamed the entire time we were there, so we only stayed for about 30 minutes. He was much happier once we got back into the air conditioned van and I took his clothes off and fed him. =0)
Oh, and see what I did there, with that title? "Quick Trip to Tulsa"... we definitely had to stop at QT on our way home!
Madi was the only one who got shots this time.

Jonah has been doing this weird sleep walking/talking thing at night lately, where it's almost like he's in a trance. It's kinda freaky...I told Dr. Raley about it and he wants us to try to video it so he can make sure he's not having some kind of nighttime seizures. Since this day, we haven't noticed him doing it as much, so I'm very thankful for that. (One night he somehow shut himself in the little bathroom downstairs in the complete dark, and couldn't figure out how to get out. It broke my heart.)

July is kind of a blur to me...I'm glad I took so many pictures so I can look back and remember what happened...haha! I know I barely slept & the days just seemed to run together.
So many happy moments...so many hard moments!

While Grandma Baldwin was staying with us, Bridgette figured out that underneath Jonah's chair was a good place to hang out.
On July 1st, the day Madi & Jonah went with the McConnell's to the swim party and to spend the night, I told Mackenzie I would take her to get her nails done. She got all ready and then the doctors office called about Jack's bilirubin being 19.3 and told us we had to get the bililights back. That changed our plans, and Mackenzie was such a good sport. I LOVE HER! I promised to take her as soon as possible, which ended up being the next day. Life with a newborn is demanding and I want to make sure all of my kids feel special and loved. I'm feeling spread very thin these days, but I'm trying my best.

I took Jonah to Hobby Lobby to get the little house shoes he wanted to get for the baby...fun little outing with my big boy!

The kids spent the night with G-Ma and Brian was gone to for a Roadshow, so Jack and I enjoyed a quiet night at home, watching Hamilton.

Connie came to visit one day & she took the kids to Braums for ice cream. She also let them pick out all kinds of groceries! I enjoyed visiting with her so much. This was another day that Brian was gone for a roadshow...it really helped me to have visitors to break up those long days.
Oh man, I miss everything about this...I keep telling myself that one day I'll be cute again...and one day I'll be able to travel again...but not today. #sigh
Daddy stayed home with the boys while the girls and I got our hair done. Much needed girl time!

There were many nights that I kissed the kids and went to bed as soon as the baby was asleep, leaving them up to watch movies until who knows how late!

Mackenzie was invited to the lake for her friend Sarah's birthday. She was SO excited and had been telling everyone that this was the most fun thing she had done all summer, even before she ever did it. This little social butterfly has missed her friends fiercely! When it started pouring rain the morning of the lake trip, I was so sad for them. But, they still managed to have a fun time at the lake & they even got a trip to the mall (and got to try on fancy dresses) out of the deal because of the rain. =0)
Madison is obsessed with Father of the Bride right now...she has decided to make a script and do a play with Pony and Lucky. She has made Jonah memorize lines for it, and I cracked up when he recited this one. So, so funny!
And here is Madison's line! LOVE!! I love it so much when they play together like this and when they use their imaginations!
I'm so glad they haven't outgrown making blanket forts!

Our sweet friends, the Peronas came to visit Jack on Friday July 17th! This was the day Jack had his follow-up check and we found out his bilirubin level was finally down and seemed to be getting better! Yea!! This was also the day I took Jack to his first FC RoadShow in Yukon. It was a busy, but good day!

At the end of July, G-Ma came up to babysit so we could go out and do something fun together. We went to Panera and to ride bikes around Arcadia. I had walked a few times before this, but this was really the first physically exerting thing I had done, and it was hard. And, I can barely ride a bike anyway...so there's that. =0( It was nice to spend time together though. With taking care of a newborn and three kids and Brian's FC Roadshow schedule, we have been in survival mode, moving in two different directions. Definitely missing each other...
The "big kids" went home with G-Ma to spend a few days...they got to do this several times throughout the summer & they all loved it so much! They never wanted to leave her...I'm not sure what that says about life at our house, but I'm glad they love being with her so much.
Carver sent jack a present in the mail, some diapers he found in his room...so sweet!
We went shopping for school supplies at target and staples at the end of July. I wanted to get it done early, to avoid the crowds. Okay...school supplies are EXPENSIVE...it cost well over $300...and that wasn't counting any back to school clothes at all. Crazy!
Jonah had $1.50 and he was determined to give it to me to help pay for school supplies. My heart could just burst! Precious, Precious boy!!
So proud of how well Jonah is reading! He and Madi have "book club" and he has decided he is big enough to read Magic Treehouse books!
