19 Weeks Anatomy Ultrasound

We had our anatomy ultrasound on Friday, January 31st at 19 weeks. This was where they took all of the baby's measurements to make sure everything looked good. I was very nervous about it, but thankfully everything was great! The ultrasound took about 30 minutes & it was hard to look away when she was measuring the baby's legs and anywhere that would show what the gender was. It's definitely hard in some ways, not knowing if its a boy or girl, but its also very exciting! What a fun surprise this is going to be, when our baby arrives! 

With Madison & Jonah, I got to do ultrasounds at every appt, 3D ultrasounds even, so I have a lot of ultrasound pics of them. This is basically all of the ultrasound pictures I will get of this baby, and they aren't the greatest. But, I love this sweet little profile pic...such a perfectly round little head & sweet button nose already! I was so relieved and thankful when Dr. Shepherd's office called on Monday to confirm that the ultrasound results were completely normal. Praise the Lord for a healthy baby! If I'm remembering correctly, I think she said the baby weighs around 11-12 oz and is measuring 4 days ahead of the due date at this point. 

I've been to Target a couple times & have just walked up and down the baby aisles, wanting to buy cute baby clothes but leaving with nothing because we don't know if its a boy or girl! There aren't hardly any cute "gender neutral" clothes...I guess we will just get a few things and then send G-Ma and Grandma Baldwin on a shopping spree as soon as the baby is born! =0)

Don't mind me...I'm just gonna be over here sniffing this bottle of baby lotion for the next 4 1/2 months, counting down the days til we have a baby to use it on! #sweetestsmellintheworld #almosthalfwaythere 

Also, according to this chart, our babies have a 37.5% chance of having green eyes...but so far they we are 3 for 3 BROWN eyes...maybe that means this little one will have green eyes?! Oh, I hope so! I've always wanted one of our babies to have their daddy's beautiful eyes.

G-Ma calls this baby "Peanut" and she's got the kids calling it that too! I told them they needed to come up with a different nickname, because I don't love it! Haha! I guess I don't care, but once the baby is born, they can't call it Peanut anymore! 

I've done a few "boy or girl" quizzes and old wives tales...its a toss up!

Jonah's 100th Day of School

Have you ever seen such an adorable "100 Year old" man?! I think not! The funny thing about this is that we didn't have to work hard on this costume at all...Jonah loves wearing clothes like this on normal days! Sports coats, fancy church clothes, hats and bow ties are right up his alley, so this was easy. The fact that he's gotten taller and his pants were a couple inches too short made it that much better! He wouldn't go for me making his hair look grey or giving him a mustache. (We tried to make a mustache with eye liner, but it didn't look right!) He was determined to take this walking stick that he found at G-Ma's house to use as a cane, and we added a newspaper and coffee cup as accessories. We took some pics with the pipe, but thought it would be best to leave that one at home! 

 Anyway, what a fun way to celebrate the 100th day of school! 

This made me laugh so so hard...I guess he thinks old people eat lots of peaches! I also love that he says he will have a "moustache" and be wrinkly! So funny!

Lady Crusaders 7th Grade Basketball

Mackenzie had a great basketball season! We are very proud of how hard she worked this season & how much she learned and grew as a basketball player. Her first school ball experience was overall a very positive one. She just needs to become more aggressive and dribble the ball more, but we know that will come with time! She never scored during a game this season, but there were 3 or 4 times that she shot the ball and it was so close to going in! I'm so glad that loves basketball and that she is already looking forward to playing next year again. I'm already looking forward to getting to watch her and not feeling sick and pregnant at every game next year! =0) 

The highlight of the season was definitely playing at OCS and winning in overtime, by 2 points! And then again, that same week, we played a game at home and also won in overtime, by 2 points! Those games were very intense and exciting! 

We love you Mackenzie! So proud of you! 

January 21 and 23 games:

At the end of January, they played at OCS and won by one point in overtime...it was the most excting, most stressful game EVER! And it was also so fun that we beat OCS! It was like watching a different team play...you could tell our girls really wanted to win this one! Mack didn't play very much, but that was okay.

The girls had one game during the schooldays, at 11:15. Poppa & Louise came to watch & Madison and Jonah got to come to the gym during their lunch period. This was also 50's day during Homecoming week. We won this game by one point in overtime again...the second time this season that happened! 

Poppa & Louise loved getting to see their 50's day outfits!

CHA Basketball Homecoming Week

The last week of January was basketball homecoming and they had different dress-up days for the "Back to the Future" theme. I loved the thought process behind that theme..."Time is flying, and we're ready to take look back on our history. Even though our culture changes as decades pass, our God never does. Hebrews 13:8 assures us, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." In this verse, we can trust that our God will remain constant for us, and we can know to secure our foundation in Him because He never changes."
These weeks are always fun, but they are also extra work. I basically told the kids if we had things at home already that would work, they could dress up, but that we weren't going to go thrift store shopping to find costumes for them to wear to school every day.
Mackenzie got especially creative for Ancient Greek day, and completely came up with this costume on her own! She even painted little leaves and glued them onto this headband to wear. I loved the entire thing and was completely impressed!

Madison and Jonah looked very cute, but we didn't have any "Ancient Greek" outfits for them to wear! They still needed their pics taken though. =0) 

Tuesday was "Fabulous Fifties" and this time it was Jonah and Madison who dressed up, and Mackenzie who didn't have a costume! It worked out okay...they at least all got to dress up a few times throughout the week!

Wednesday was "Groovy Seventies" and Mackenzie rocked this day in the tye-dye shirt Daddy had tucked away in his closet! 

Thursday was "Rad Nineties" and this was probably my favorite! I was wishing I had saved some of my jeans overalls that I loved so much when I was in high school! But...I did dig out my "Candace and Brian FOREVER" t-shirt that I screen printed in 1997...doesn't get any more authentic 90's than that! Madison wasn't too sure about wearing it at first, but then she decided it would be fun! I'm pretty sure she kept her jean jacket on most of the day though. =0)
