No Freakin' Way

The night of Jonah's party, we were getting ready for bed and I walked outside to tell the girls to come in from the backyard. I had Jack on my hip...I shut the door and went up the stairs to Jonah's room...I bent down to set Jack in the floor & all of a sudden...FIRE in my chest...stinging, burning, shooting pain and I didn't know why...panic to the point of ripping my shirt and bra off in front of my kids, who were staring at me like I had lost my mind! I ran into their bathroom and threw my shirt in the floor, clawing at my chest to try and stop the pain. That's when I looked down and saw it. A scorpion crawling out of my shirt. WHAT. EVEN? Who gets stung on the breasts by a scorpion?! Oh, that'd only be me! Mercy!! I am just SO THANKFUL that it stung me & not Jack. The only thing I can figure is that when I opened the door to tell the girls to come in, it fell into my hair and then when I bent down to set Jack in the floor, it felt into my bra? What the heck?! LOL! It's funny now! Not so much in the 30 minutes that followed. The pain let up after about 30 minutes, but I didn't sleep well the whole night because it hurt every time I moved. And I kept feeling like things were crawling on me. EEEKKKKK!!! And I was a little freaked out, because I was still nursing Jack and it stung me in the boobs! My friend Chesca (also my dr) reassured me that it was okay & no venom or whatever could cause problems for Jack. We have never even seen a single scorpion in our house!
I can't even make these things up. (insert eye roll)

A Dude Perfect Kind of Birthday

We celebrated Jonah's birthday with our family after his baptism on Sunday. These days are my favorite, when all the people we love the most come to our house! Our kids are so blessed to have so many people who love and celebrate (and spoil) them! Jonah especially loved all of the Legos he got & that crisp $100 from Uncle John!
Jonah is very into Dude Perfect these days, so it was only fitting that he have a DP party! I wasn't sure how the cake would turn out, but I ended up loving it, and Jonah was very proud that it was homemade by me. =0)
It was a full weekend of "all things Jonah" and we loved every minute of it! This boy is a gift from God & I really can't believe he is NINE years old. My baby is growing up before my eyes!
Pound It! Noggin! See ya!

The birthday prayer...Jonah was just ready to eat cake! =0)))
Jonah was definitely feeling rich after he opened his gifts and cards!
He also got new Heely's from GMa! (the shoes that have skates on the bottom of them!)
Jack was in the big middle of everything!
