This is how Jonah and I feel at the end of June! It seems like we have been running 100 mph for the past 5 weeks or so. (Choir Tour, Super Summer/G-Ma's, Pre-SMAK, Falls Creek, VBS...yep, I'd say we have a good reason to be tired!) This was the Saturday after we finished VBS at our church, and it was a great day. I started the day with a pedicure (and a Diet Coke & chocolate chip cookies...oh yeah!), while G-Ma stayed with the kids. Then I took a nap with my baby boy and ended the day with dinner at Outback with my favorite guy. Yep, a good day indeed! Especially knowing that we have the next week off to relax and just enjoy being together.
G-Ma took these pic's of us...we were both snoozing away! I don't know who enjoyed this more...me or him. We are both looking pretty comfortable!
At 10 months, this little guy is becoming more mobile all the time. And he has an attitude when things don't go exactly the way he thinks they should! (which isn't often!) He still isn't fully crawling, but he can roll and scoot himself from one room to another in seconds. He is still a biter...yikes! The girls never did this, so I'm kind of at a loss for what to do. I thump his little cheek and say "no-no" but all that does is completely hurt his feelings for about 30 seconds, and then he goes right back to biting me again! He has started clapping his hands and playing pat-a-cake, and he loves playing peek-a-boo! He is thoroughly entertained by his big sisters. Because of his long, curly hair, Jonah has been called a girl several times. Most of the time I don't even correct people...I just let it go! It will be funny to tell him about it one of these days.
He is 100% boy...very curious and into everything! He doesn't cry often, but when he does...OH MY! He can shriek and scream like no other! Jonah gets those rosy red cheeks when he gets hot, just like Madison does.
I've always heard people talk about how little boy's love their Momma's....and now I understand it...
This little boy LOVES his Momma! He has my heart completely! Only two more months until his first birthday...so very bittersweet!
This was a two part photo shoot...the first attempt was a failure, because he was hungry and sleepy!
This was Take ONE...it didn't go so well! When I sat him in the chair, he pretty much had a complete fit!
Take TWO, with a full tummy and a short little nap, was much better! He figured out how to make the chair rock all by himself too, so that was very exciting!

I think this is the sign that the Photoshoot is over! He was no longer interested in posing for pics!
I am discovering that there is a whole new world out there that I am just now starting to experience...SUPERHEROES! How fun is this going to be?! Don't get me wrong...I love princesses, baby dolls and Barbies...but it's fun to change things up and I'm definitely looking forward to superheroes, ninja turtles, and hot wheels! I found these Superman & Spiderman pj's and just had to have them. Especially when I saw that the Superman ones came with a cape! My favorite part is the muscles...he's looking good! I was getting the girls in bed so I put Jonah in his room with some toys. It was so sweet...he sat on his little puppy rug and played for the longest time.
Thursday night was family night for VBS. When we got there, Lorie asked Mackenzie to help with some of the songs up on the stage, which she was so thrilled about! (Madison was a little upset that she didn't get to go up there too, but it was kind of a last minute thing and just didn't work out for her to.) After the short program, we had hot dogs and snow cones and then played on moon bounces and go-kart looking bikes. (I don't know exactly what to call them!) The highlights of the night for me were watching Madi and Gianna eat their snow cones on the curb and watching Mackenzie drive the bikes. What was so funny about it is that if she were trying to do that at home, there would be much whining and complaining about how hard it was and how it made her legs hurt...but not there, in front of so many people! She was working very hard to make that bike go! Jonah really liked the snow cones too, and had a fit if we didn't spoon it into his mouth fast enough! He was getting fed snow cone by G-Ma, Madison and me! I left the evening feeling thankful that we have such a great church home with wonderful, fun activities for our children.

I absolutely LOVE this picture! What a beautiful picture of how God, our heavenly Father is always with us, taking care of us and watching over us. Madison was afraid of the diving board, but she had much more confidence because her Daddy was right there with her. She was okay with jumping, because she knew he was there. Sometimes we get busy with life and forget that God is there. Always loving. Always protecting. Always guiding. Always. Sometimes we go through hard things in life, but He is always there!
I love it that the girls started swim lessons the week of VBS. The motto for VBS this year was "Facing Fear! Trusting God!" How perfect is that! The Scripture that went along with it was 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but a spirit of power, love and sound judgment." We were able to talk about this with the girls and I really believe it helped them face their fears at swim lessons.
Thank you, Lord for this reminder that you are always with us and we don't have to be afraid!

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
It gives me great peace as a Mother that as my children grow up and gain more and more independence from me, God will ALWAYS be with them, even when I am not!
I took Jonah for his 9 month well check (about a month late) one afternoon during the week of VBS. At almost 10 months old, he weighs 21.8 lbs. He dropped from 80% at 7 months to 59% at 10 months. Brian joked that we have had him on a diet! Not true at all, but he is just more mobile now and it makes a difference. He is 29.5" long and is in the 76% for height. That is higher than either of the girls ever were. As always, the worst part of these visits is the shots...he got a HepB shot and an MCV shot...whatever that means. I always hate it when that wave of pain crosses their face as the first shot goes in, and they look at you like, "Why are you letting this happen to me?" I was very proud of Jonah though. He cried for a few seconds and then was just fine. I think he handled these shots better than in the past. I'm always so relieved when it's done! Once again, I am praising God for this healthy baby boy!
