Night Three

Our 3rd night on the cruise was one of my favorites for sure. After we got cleaned up from our Jamaican adventures, we had dinner in the main dining room. Then we went to play Deal or No Deal. This was a splurge, at $50 for 3 cards, but I really wanted to do this. I had watched youtube videos before we went, and it just looked very fun. Unfortunately, we didn't win anything, but we still had fun playing! After this, we relaxed in the room for a while and then decided at the last minute to go to the Love & Marriage show. I am so so glad we did that instead of just going to sleep early...it was hysterical and I laughed until I literally had tears running down my face! Our cruise director was named Jacky Tang, and he was very entertaining. This was a very fun night and one of my favorite memories from our whole trip.
Have I mentioned how much I enjoyed just taking care of myself for a few days?!
I don't remember what entree I ordered, but the strawberry cheesecake was divine!
Two contestants are randomly selected to play the game onstage, but everyone who buys cards plays along with them and the more matches you have, the more you can win.
Brian and I both laughed harder than we have in a very long time! You couldn't pay me enough money to be sitting in one of those seats though! =0)))
So funny...I laid my glasses on my book when I went to sleep and when I woke up the next morning, this is what I saw. LOL! Side note--I was so excited about reading this book on the cruise, but it was really pretty boring. Just my honest opinion...
More pre-dinner pics that I didn't buy...

Bamboo Beach Club

After Dunns River Falls, they took us to the Bamboo Beach Club, where we spent a few hours relaxing on the beach. It took us over an hour to drive there, which surprised me. It was also more primitive than I thought it would be, but it was beautiful and very enjoyable. We shared a Jamaican meal of jerk chicken, rice and plantains, and a tropical smoothie that was soooo good! We waded into the ocean a little bit, but after being so freezing cold at the waterfall, we didn't really want to get all wet again.  The water was crystal clear and so pretty though! We really weren't there all that long, and then it was time to load up and drive back across the island. Hindsight, I probably would have picked a different excursion if I would've known how much driving was involved in this one. We got to see a lot of the island though, so that was good I guess. When we got close to the cruise ship, they took us to the highest point on Ocho Rios. That was really neat, because we had a great view of the cruise ship from up there! We also passed the sign for Shaw Park Gardens, which was fun to see because that is one of the things we did on our cruise when I was a teenager. We made a quick stop at a souvenir shopping area, and then headed back to the Carnival Horizon! Overall, we had an amazing day in Jamaica!
This right here...just doesn't get any better...paradise with my love!
I can't explain how good this was...I think it was basically just blended frozen pineapple, mango and ice, and it tasted so amazing!
I'm glad we ate traditional Jamaican food...it was very good! It reminded me a lot of what we ate in Belize, but it was better.
What a view!
And finally, back to the Carnival Horizon!

Dunns River Falls

The one excursion I knew for sure I wanted to do on the cruise was Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica. We started our day there, and had the best time...but it was FREEZING! Our guides made sure we got plenty wet, even making us go completely underwater a few times. At one point, Brian lost his sunglasses in a waterfall. He didn't realize it until we got close to the end, but he knew right where they must have fallen off so he went back to try and find them. I thought there was about a 2% chance that he would find them, but one of the guides put on some goggles and there they were at the bottom of the waterfall! We put our phones in waterproof cases that I bought on Amazon before our trip, and miraculously they stayed completely dry!
We were with an interesting group...the best way I know to explain what I mean by that is to say that they spent a ridiculous amount of money buying marijuana from a Jamaican man in the parking lot at the beginning of the day, and they enjoyed it all day long. We did not enjoy smelling it all day long.
Dunns River Falls did not disappoint, but it could have been a little warmer! =0) After this, we loaded the bus and they took us to the Beach Club resort.
$60 Dunns River Falls video and pictures that we bought! (of course!)
Me, realizing how cold I was about to be...
This right here is where the sunglasses came off...probably 2 seconds after this picture was snapped!
Yeah, I think maybe they're gone now...
Yeah, he got lucky!
