A Bunch of Birthday Parties!

We have celebrated several birthdays with our friends recently! Here are some pic's of some of them.
Kinley had her 7th birthday party at the Sky Zone trampoline park and it was so much fun!
Mackenzie made this birthday card for Kinley all by herself! I love the "Have peace my friend in your life" part!
Gabrielle's 7th Birthday party at Miller Swim School!
Madison's BFF Lucy's birthday party at BounceU!
They are the cutest!
Emma's Birthday party at Miss Shelly's dance studio
Mackenzie didn't like not getting to participate at all!

House Hunting, We Will Go!

When we got the call that we had an offer on our house, we went into full house hunting mode. We had been looking since before we even listed our house, but we just hadn't found the right fit for us. At first the girls thought it was fun to look at houses...but after the first few times, they complained when we told them we were going house hunting. I am blogging about this after we made our decision, but getting to this point was STRESSFUL! We would find a house that we loved, but it wasn't in the right place...then we would find the right location but something about the house wasn't right...then we would find an all around good house, but it didn't have 4 bedrooms plus an office...then we would find one we liked, but it was too expensive and too big...and so it went, on and on! I have always heard that it is impossible to find a "perfect" house...I didn't really understand it until now. That is so true! House hunting should be fun, and at times it was...but at other times I was so stressed out about it that I was sick at my stomach. We actually found a house that we loved so much and even put in an offer on it, but after much prayer and re-thinking it, we took our offer off the table. It was a beautiful house, with big trees and a beautiful yard, an awesome kitchen, and an upstairs...but it was at the very top of our price range and it was bigger than we really needed and utilities would have been an issue also. As we made the decision that it wasn't the house for us, we also came to the conclusion that building a home with Simmons in South Bridge was the best option all around for us. Our realtor, Gannon Brown, had taken us to see pretty much every single house that would be a potential option for us, and we just weren't finding "our house." As soon as the decision to build was made, I was really able to sit back and take a deep breath again...while this may not be the easiest and quickest option for us, I do think in the long run, we will be happiest by doing it!

Here are some pictures I took along the house hunting journey...

Mackenzie's plans for her new bedroom...notice the turtles and the canopy she wants over her bed!
Here are pictures of the prettiest kitchen and living room we saw...I loved this house, but it was only 3 bedrooms and really didn't have an office that would work for us. And it was located too far in Bixby.
Here is another of Mackenzie's floorplan drawings!
Another house I really liked, but the floorplan and location were not ideal. I just liked it because it was new, already built and pretty on the outside!
Here are some house pic's by Madison.
I'm pretty sure it is a drawing of what she wants her room to look like!
This is the house we almost bought. It was very pretty, but as I sit here blogging, I'm SO glad we decided to build.
This is what I really loved about it...
I really liked the inside of this one, but it was too far from the church.
Really liked the upstairs of this one, but the floorplan downstairs and the outside of the house were not what we wanted.
Here's a shot of our awesome realtor, Gannon! He was so patient and helpful with this whole process. Had it not been for his help showing us what all was out there, we wouldn't have been able to make the decision that building was the right thing for us with such confidence.
Soooo...after all that, we are going to build a Simmons "Dawson" floorplan house in South Bridge. It will look something like this. I am so excited, but still a little unsettled about the whole thing. I hope we are making the right decision!
I love the kitchen!
The kids all really liked this house too!
Hopefully before too long, we will be at this stage! This is another Dawson that is being built in South Bridge right now.
