Brian spent the last week in Mexico, for a GoStudents site visit. He had a great week and is really excited about partnering with them for future projects! I, however, had a very VERY busy week at home without him, juggling field trips, homework, choir programs, church, etc. etc. etc. with our three kids. Not that I'm complaining...I would NEVER do that (ha!)... Sometimes it is very hard when he travels, but it is worth it. I try to think of it as part of my participation in his ministry and forwarding the gospel, even though I am not physically there doing that work with him. After all, he couldn't be in other countries doing that if I weren't at home taking care of our kids!

However, when he was FaceTiming me from this beautiful beach, after I had a very LONG DAY with the kids...my attitude may or may not have been so great! Haha! I did treat myself to a trip to the Buckle while he was gone!

Jamie texted me randomly the other day asking me to tell him 5 things I love about my husband...I couldn't give him just 5. I am really so blessed!

Here are a few more pics from Brian's trip to Mexico. Mackenzie sent this bracelet for Daddy to give to a little girl in Mexico. He gave it to this little girl, and in return, she gave him this pretty white shell to give to Mackenzie. How sweet & special!

Mack's OCS Pioneer Schoolhouse Visit

Mackenzie had a field trip to the old schoolhouse in Edmond. She had a fun time, but this was kind of a repeat field trip for her, since she did this exact same thing in Tulsa with Regent last year. She has grown a lot since the first time she wore this dress in 1st grade! It's pretty amazing that its lasted her 4 years! She wasn't too happy about how short it was, but I convinced her that it was just fine with her booths on! Here is a pic of her in the 1st grade when she wore this dress for the first time...so sweet and little! 

Parents were asked not to attend this field trip, because the schoolhouse is so tiny and there just isn't room. That worked out pretty well anyway, because Brian was out of town this week and I had Jonah and couldn't have gone. I was hoping for some more pics from the few moms that drove the kids there, but for some reason, I never saw any. 

Just like last time, I packed her an "authentic" old-fashioned lunch! (Complete with store-bought muffins and rotisserie chicken! LOL!)

Thinking about the Regent schoolhouse visit always takes me back to this picture...hahaha!!!! Those were happy, happy times! 

OCS Spring Concert

Mackenzie was a part of the OCS Spring Concert on Tuesday evening. (The SAME day that I had been dressed up like a pioneer woman at Harn Homestead...and did I mention that Brian was out of town all week?! Yeah, it was a bit crazy!) It was a patriotic theme and all of the 4th graders wore red/white/blue. I was so proud of Mackenzie for trying out for a solo. She got a part singing with a few other kids and she did a beautiful job! G-Ma and Poppa & Louise came to watch Mack's program. Daddy was so bummed to miss it, but he was still in Mexico for work. I think my favorite part of the program was during the Fifty Nifty United States song. Mackenzie was standing by her friend, Jackson and they had the signs "Fifty" and "Nifty" to hold up. At one point, Jackson wasn't quick enough with his sign and Mackenzie elbowed him, and up shot his sign. It was just so funny! I am thankful for Jackson...he has been a real friend to Mackenzie this year! It's hard to believe our first year at OCS is already coming to an end. It hasn't been easy every step of the way, but we are thankful for the opportunity & blessed to be here!

So beautiful & grown up! It's crazy to think that one year from now when she is in this program, it will be her last elementary program like this. (I tear up just thinking about it...I DON'T LIKE IT!!)

I do love being closer to family, because it makes it a lot easier for them to come to things like this!
