Play: (Verb)

The pictures pretty much say it all...this playroom makes me crazy! I try to remind myself that one day I will wish for the days when toys were spread all over the place like this. The girls tend to blame Jonah for much of the mess thee days, but I know better. I'm pretty sure he didn't make this mess all by himself! According to our definition of the word "play," my kids understand it well!

Go Regent!

Mackenzie had a great basketball season! She has improved so much and the most exciting thing...she made a basket during one of her games and helped her team get their first win of the season! That was an exciting moment right there! I wish so badly we had it on video, but it happened so fast and it was so unexpected, that we didn't get it...BUT, I will never, ever forget the look of shock and happiness on her face when that ball went in! She started jumping up and down and took off running down the court. We kind of went crazy in the stands too & I have to admit, I had tears in my eyes! G-Ma, Rex, Aunt Barbara & Uncle Alan were all there to see it too. We were hoping the other team didn't think we were displaying terrible sportsmanship when we won that game, because we had a big celebration! But hey, when it's your first win...like, ever...I think it's okay to celebrate! During this time, we were in the process of making the decision to take the job in OKC, and it was sad to me every week thinking that this would be Mack's last year to get to play with these girls. What a sweet group they are...I'm so thankful for the time she has had with them! Shawnna & Shea did a great job coaching the girls & they learned so much. Here are some pic's and video's from the season!
This was the day we had a double-header and Mackenzie made her basket in the second game. After the first game, she was unhappy because they kept losing...so the second game was cause for great excitement!
They were having a moment on the gym floor, apparently!
Look at that face...Not happy about losing again... (after first game)
Defensive Warrior!
G-Ma and Rex made a last minute decision to drive up for the games, and I'm so, so glad they did so they could see Mack make her basket!
We thought a win was cause for Cherry Berry!
Team picture day!
I mean, what a great fan club! Mackenzie had lots of support throughout the season!
Mackenzie was upset that her class didn't get to have a Valentine's party at school, so we took cookies to the game and had a "party" there instead! It was fun! This was also her last game to be at, because we had to miss the very last one, so it was a fun way to end the season for her.
This was at the end of the girls last basketball practice...

Smarty Pants!

We've had a bit of a struggle with spelling words the last few weeks, but with a few suggestions from Mrs. Andrews, we figured out a good way to study! We use the white board on the new easel the girls got from G-Ma for Christmas. I write the word and then erase it, then Madison writes it and erases it, over and over until she gets it! I was SO excited when she brought home this spelling test that she got every word right on! Madison is a hard worker and such a smart little girl! And let me just say...for 1st grade, these words are HARD.
This was her list from a few weeks before.

State Evangelism Conference

I went with Brian to the State Evangelism Conference in OKC on Monday and Tuesday. It was fun to have a few days away together. Brian also met with the BGCO team again for a second interview, and we are still praying through that process and the decision that will have to be made soon. I still have very mixed feelings about it. We got there Monday afternoon, went to a session that Dr. Jordan was speaking at, then had dinner at The Garage, and then went back to hear Lee Strobel speak that evening. I will say that it was fun for me to watch Brian interact with people there...he knows a lot of people across the state and they know him. I think he would do amazing in this new position, if this is where God is leading. On Tuesday morning, I stayed in the hotel and slept in while Brian went to meet with the BGCO team. After that, he picked me up and we went to Norman to tour Community Christian School. I don't want to say anything bad about it, but I will just leave it at this...I cried half of the way back to Tulsa...no, really...for nearly an hour I cried. We just love Regent so much & that has set the bar very high for us. We will definitely be doing more school visits soon. I'm just praying that if God wants us to do this, He will clearly show us and walk us through every step of it as only He can do!

Pajama Day

Pajama Day at ELP is always fun! Jonah wore his new Marshall (from Paw Patrol) pj's, and what made that even more fun was that they watched a Paw Patrol DVD during rest time. And of course Lucky went along for PJ Day too!

Walkin' Through Life, Together

Brian asked me to find an old picture for him, and I had so much fun going through these! We've been loving each other for a long time now. I know our story is not the norm, but it is ours and I wouldn't have wanted my life to play out any other way! We have literally grown up together and I really don't know what life looks like without him. These words I wrote in my Sr. scrapbook have turned out to be so true for us...we really have been "walkin' through life together" for all these years!

I posted this picture on FB with this caption and hashtags (which I thought were very funny):
This was Brian's comment on my post..one of the many reasons I love him!
"You're more beautiful now than ever! I'm still blown away that I ended up with The prettiest girl in the entire world!"
I saw this picture and instantly thought "wow! that looks like Mackenzie!"
Our expressions are hysterical...there was no drinking involved (ever) so we must've just been drunk on love! LOL!
Yep, we had the great honor of being the Prom King & Queen! Probably my favorite High School memory!
