Easter at the Lake Day 2

The next morning, we had a great breakfast and then the kids got to hunt eggs. It was fun to watch Jonah hunt eggs this year. Last year he didn't care anything about it, but he would run to get his eggs this time! It was a beautiful day, so we played outside and walked down to the water to throw rocks in and find "treasures." The girls are so funny...any feather, shell, cool rock, etc. that they find, they want to save to take to Nature Studies at school. I even had to convince Madison that she could NOT take a dead baby bird that we saw in a parking lot to school the other day.
The kids looked so cute in the new outfits Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin got for them!
Jonah is really into wearing his hat right now. Like ALL of the time!
They're OFF!
There's just something fun about throwing rocks into the water!
Mackenzie is our little collector!
So grown up...
Jonah loves sitting in this tiny little chair, but he's just about to outgrow it. That makes me sad!
The girls set up this little m&m tea party for us before we left!
Here is an egg hunting video!

Early Easter at the Lake

Since we were leaving for vacation on Easter, we went to the lake the weekend before to spend some time with Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin. We got there on Friday night and the kids had fun coloring Easter eggs & decorating the bunny cake with Grandma Baldwin. That is a tradition that they look forward to every year! I love coloring eggs with the kids and always miss my dad when we do it. It was one of his favorite things to do! We missed getting to be with all of the cousins on Easter this year, but there's always next year. Grandma & Grandpa gave the kids Easter baskets with some cute new clothes, candy & coloring books. So fun!
At bedtime, we tucked the girls into the bunk beds & made a little bed for Jonah in the floor beside them. I laid in there while they went to sleep & Mackenzie started singing to Jonah. It was the most precious thing ever! I'm so glad we got to have this weekend to do fun Easter things, because I know next weekend will be crazy, getting ready for our trip.
Jonah needed LOTS of help, but he liked coloring eggs!
Ugh! I look tired.
I had the bright idea to buy this egg coloring kit where the kids got to actually paint on their eggs with paint brushes. They loved it, but it was a MESS!
That is one beautiful egg!
There's no doubt they are sisters!
Our very pretty eggs!
Bunny Cake Time!
Jonah helped some, and ate some!
Grandma Baldwin was a good sport and let them pretty much decorate it however they wanted! She did help Mackenzie fix the sprinkle mustache she tried to give the bunny though! I love it that she does this with them. It is something they will always remember!
Jonah disappeared for a while and we found him feeding Bridgett her dog food. The dog food he had poured into her water bowl. I guess she didn't mind it being soggy!
Going on a walk with Grandma Baldwin!
Waiting for their (early) Easter baskets!
I really have no caption for this one, except that she was begging me to take her picture like this!
Ready for bed! Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin made these built-in bunk beds that are just so much fun for the kids!
