Settling Into School

By the end of September, the girls were settling in nicely to their new school. It takes a while to learn the ropes and get used to a new way of doing things, but they both have amazed me by how well they have done. One thing that is very new to the girls is Technology. They are both learning to use computers, and that is not something that Regent did at all. Here are some fun things that happened and some school work from the first month or so, of school! 

Madison was very proud to be told by Mrs. Parsons that she has the best handwriting in her class!

On Wednesdays, the girls have Chapel and get to wear dresses. 

Madi was all dressed up and ready for Johnny Appleseed Day! I really can't get over the cuteness!

OCS Homecoming was at the end of September. We went to the school for the parade, and although it was very short, it was so much fun!

Pretty Perfect Picnic Day

Fall weather and G-Ma's house are the perfect combination! It is just too beautiful to sit inside all of the time, and that's coming from a girl who loves to be inside! Ha! One day while the girls were at school, Jonah and I had a picnic on the treehouse porch and then we laid up in the loft and relaxed together for a while! In the midst of this crazy thing called "life," I really am trying to not miss the little moments like this, that are what really matter. I'd say this was a pretty perfect day for a picnic and playing with my favorite 4 year old little boy! We were representing our favorite team, too! 

Wildlife Expo Field Trip

Mackenzie went on her first field trip with OCS to the Wildlife Expo in Guthrie. This was a very cool event, and I couldn't help but think the whole time we were there, how much my Dad would've loved to be there with us. Definitely made me miss him a lot! Mackenzie was in a group with Ava, Hannah, Ty and Easton. All very sweet kids! An added bonus for me was getting to spend the day with my friend, Lori! I am very sad that the Matthiesen's, the one family we are friends with here, are going to be moving to Joplin sometime soon. Ugh! Why, Lord? Why? 

Back to the field trip...there was so much to do at the Wildlife Expo! An unexpected fun surprise was getting to see my cousin, Levi there. We weren't able to visit for long, because I was chasing kids, but it was great to see him! 

It was good for me to watch Mackenzie interact with her new friends and have a fun time. At one point, we were sitting on a bench and she got very serious and said, "I wish Kinley was here." There is still very much a sadness about moving and the loss of the people and places we loved so much in Tulsa, hanging over us all. But overall, this was a fun day with my big girl! I'm so glad I was able to go on this field trip with her. When it was over, I drove to Tulsa to spend the night with Kari, just for a fun break. Brian and the kids rode up to Tulsa the next day with G-Ma for Carver's birthday party, and then we all rode back home together.

Mackenzie and Ava have become friends quickly. I am so thankful for that! 

We waited...and waited...and waited...forever to have not one, but two fly fishing lures made! 

Mack got this very cool pass to get into any National Park for free. This will come in very handy if we get to do our big trip out west at the end of this next summer.
