I am amazed at how well Mackenzie can read...

What a sweet little baby!

Mackenzie was the "Momma" & Madison was the "baby." They play together very well most of the time, unless they are about to kill each other!

Grandma Baldwin took us shopping for school clothes, and this is one of the matching outfits the girls got. LOVE it!

Madison must absolutely have a nap! We tried to make it without one on this day at G-Ma's house, and this is what happened at 6:00 in the evening...she passed out right on the floor! (with Pony of course!)

I woke her up after about 20 minutes, because I wanted her to sleep that night, and she wasn't too happy about it. She also didn't want Chloe on her lap. Chloe loves Madison and always wants to sit in her lap!

The girls love playing with Calico Critters...especially the babies!

This is Madison's new sleep mat for school...I'm really hoping she will use it instead of her ladybug blankie, because it would be easier to take back and forth...we will see! So far she loves it!

We went backpack shopping and Madison picked Minnie Mouse...

We had lunch at Kari's house one day with the Easterwood's & Sommer's...look at all of these pretty girls! After we ate, the girls came and did a little parade or performance (not real sure what to call it, but it was cute!) for us. Madison wasn't too into it, but Mackenzie thought it was fantastic! 

Baby Practice

We had our friends, Matt and Jennifer Mounger over for dinner last week. The girls were so excited to play with Savanah, who is Madison's age, and her baby brother Chandler, who is 2 months old. I was very curious to see how the girls would react to Chandler. As soon as Madison saw me holding him, she said, "Momma hold ME." (uh-oh!) She warmed up to him though, when she got to help hold his bottle and paci...she kept touching his hands and feet and saying, "Hi, 'ittle guy!" I took a ton of pictures of them holding Chandler...there's no telling how many I will take when it's their own little brother! Hundreds, of course! Mackenzie loved it when he wrapped his little hand around her finger. She is going to be a very good big sister! A few days after this, I asked Madison if she was going to love on her baby brother when he gets here and her response was, "NO. I want a baby sister!" That same night, she was playing Barbies with G-Ma and her Barbie said, "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!" G-Ma's Barbie said, "What kind of baby is it?" and Madison's Barbie said, "It's a girl baby!" I think she may be in for a big surprise when the baby gets here and it really is a boy, not a girl! I reminded her that she was getting a brother, and not a sister, and she told me she was going to have 5 baby girls when she grows up! (I hope she does!) The other day, I did raise my shirt up and said to Madison, "Look, Baby Brother is in there!" and she came over, rubbed my tummy and said, "Ah, he's so cute!" So maybe she'll like him after all! Holding Chandler really made me ready for our baby boy to get here so I can cuddle with him!

Little Supermodel

This picture above of Mackenzie is one of my new favorites! She was dressed up in a black leotard & this black sparkly hat, and I was laying on the couch and just snapped this picture with my phone real quick. When I added the Instagram filter, it became magical! I've always said we should have her in magazines...surely we could make some money off of this cuteness! I have to say though, that this picture makes me a little sad too...she is growing up so quickly. I tell her all of the time that she will always be my baby!

I have also heard her use these sayings and words recently: "For crying out loud," "For goodness sakes," "apparently," "Awkward," "For Pete's sake!" and "seriously." She has a huge vocabulary for a 5 year old!

Grandma Baldwin took us shopping for school clothes for the girls. (Don't know what we would do without her!) We found this outfit at The Children's Place and Mackenzie fell in love with it, mostly because of the purse and boots of course! She was just devastated when we didn't buy it, but she will be very happy when she opens her birthday present from Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin! It's so hard to believe she is old enough to wear things like this...

And this was a "Momma, take my picture" moment! What can I say?! She knows she's cute. That's good though...I want my girls to have confidence in themselves, without being vain of course.

Sweet Ballerina

Madison loves dressing up, and she is very into dressing herself these days. And 9 times out of 10, she puts her clothes on backwards. Silly girl! This outfit was definitely on backwards...thus the lowcut top! I am loving the rain boots. I guess she will be ready if it rains...if it EVER rains! She is really coming out of her shell...talking and singing nonstop, and dancing and striking poses constantly. She is learning well from her big sister! I'm thinking we may have to try dance class for her this year.

Ice Cream Makes Everything Better!

This past Monday, I realized that Mackenzie's Regent paperwork was due, and she needed to go see Dr. Raley for an updated well visit. (We had already been to Dr. Raley that morning, because of Mack's ear troubles, before I figured all this out, so we made two trips to the dr in one day. Not exactly my idea of fun.) Well, I didn't realize that Mackenzie needed a chicken pox booster shot. Apparently I never took her for a 5 year old well visit...not a proud mom moment! When I told her she had to have a shot, she instantly started wailing...and so did Madison. I was very thankful that Brian was able to meet us at the Dr. I'm not sure I could have handled both of them on my own. By the time the nurse came in with the shot, Mackenzie had calmed down, and believe it or not, she didn't even cry after getting the shot. I was so proud of her! The nurse told her that she wouldn't have to get any more shots until she is 11. That got a smile for sure! She also made the mistake of saying that when Madison turns 4, she'll have to get this same shot...at which point Madison starts sobbing and saying' "no, no, no!" the poor little thing thought she was getting a shot too! We were all glad to get out of there! Thankfully, Mackenzie is a very healthy girl. Afterwards, we went to Genghis Grill for dinner, and then to Braum's for ice cream. Madison was determined to have a dip cone, and Mack got her usual...birthday cake ice cream! Ice cream makes everything better...even 110* days when you're almost 9 months pregnant and getting shots when you are 5!

Mack found these old sunglasses of mine in a drawer at home and asked me if she could have them. This was before she knew the shot was coming...

I'm so glad her vaccinations are caught up until she's 11...but that's just one more sign that she's growing up way too fast!

She wasn't bothered at all by the fact that ice cream was dripping off her nose and running down her chin! I just let her go at it, and cleaned her up when she was done. =0)

Baby Blessings

One of my favorite things they did at the baby shower was to have people write blessings or prayers for our baby boy. Not everyone did it, but I just loved reading those that did! My favorite, of course, was Mackenzie's..."We Hope That Baby Brother Grows Big and Strong!" I will keep that forever! These are all very special to me...such sweet words from people who love this little boy already, and they haven't even met him yet!
