Works of Art

Here is some recent artwork from the girls. Mackenzie did this "God Made Me Special" picture above...her anatomical correctness cracks me up! Any time she draws a girl, it looks like this. =0) And, this picture is oh, so true...God did make her very special!!!
I found this picture in one of Mackenzie's little journals...OH My! She's not even 7 yet! If this is any indication, I'm pretty sure she is going to be a little boy crazy when she gets older.
Mackenzie loves to color!
Mack drew this picture for Kinley.
The girls drew these pictures of me and Daddy on our wedding day. I love how the kids are in Mackenzie's picture! And, I love how Madison drew Daddy's hair!
Madison is becoming quite the little artist!
We're still working on that "d"!
We are working on writing and recognizing letters. I was very impressed with her Minnie Mouse!

Year In Review

We are getting ready to celebrate Jonah's 1st birthday, so I put together this little postcard to include with his party invitations. I am so glad that I did these pictures each month. (I SO wish I would have done this with the girls, but I don't think they even had these little stickers then. At least I didn't know about them if they did!) It's so much fun to look back and see how much he has grown and changed over the past year!

12 Months Old

Well, I think I can say with confidence that the past 12 months have passed quicker than any other time. It has been such a joy to watch Jonah grow this year! At 12 months, he is crawling everywhere and loves taking baths. I think we nearly get as wet as he is, because he loves splashing so much! He gets called a girl more and more every day, the longer his hair gets. =0) It will all be worth it when we get his first haircut at Disney World in November! You really can't tell how long his hair is in these pic's, because it was wet. Jonah is most definitely a Momma's Boy and gets very sad when I leave him in the nursery at church. When we walk into church, he starts to cling to me and his grip gets tighter the closer we get to the nursery! He loves opening and shutting doors and drawers and playing with anything that isn't really a toy. The words "no-no" don't mean much to him...except that is his cue to smile at us and shake his head back and forth, and then keep doing whatever it was we were telling him "no-no" about! Jonah has a mouthful of teeth...he is working on getting 4 molars, and that is just painful. He definitely likes to eat! His favorite is still Momma's milk, but he also likes carrots, peas and green beans. Every night is different with Jonah. Sometimes he sleeps all night, but most of the time he wakes up halfway through the night and wants to eat and snuggle with Momma in bed! He is somewhat spoiled ROTTEN! (I like that cuddle time as much as he does though!) One of these days he is going to have to learn to wear shoes. Right now he just starts trying to get them off the second I put them on! It makes me sad that this is our last "month" picture...Buddy Bear has been such a good companion! When we started out doing these pictures, Jonah was nearly as little as Buddy Bear.
So thankful for this healthy, happy 12 month old!
"Enough with these pictures...I'm outta here!"

Sick Birthday Baby = No Fun

Jonah was not sick a single time during his first year...until his birthday. He woke up feeling rotten, so I took him to Dr. Raley and he had a double ear infection. Poor fella! Nobody should have to be sick on their birthday! On top of that, he was getting 4 molars all at once. It was a rough couple of nights at our house. I think the picture above says it all! Brian just temporarily relocated to the couch, for the sake of us all. It makes me so sad when my baby's are sick. Thankfully, with a little Amoxicillin, Tylenol & Motrin, and lots of lovin' and cuddling, he was feeling better pretty quickly.
We went to the Pierce's so Madison and Gwen could have a play date and swim, and Jonah was trying to be happy, but he just didn't feel good. He did like splashing in the pool, though. I'm sure that cool water felt good on his hot little body.
You can tell just looking in his eyes that he didn't feel good.

BIRTHDAY BOY!

It just does not get ANY cuter!!! Jonah is officially ONE year old today! Poor baby boy woke up feeling rotten...I took him to the Dr and he has a double ear infection. That's not a fun way to spend your birthday at all! He hasn't been sick a single time his whole first year of life, until now...I guess that's pretty good for his first year! Even though he didn't feel good, he managed to smile for a few birthday pics. I love him more than words can say!! I really feel like just yesterday we were headed to the hospital, so anxious to meet our baby boy. He has brought unending amounts of joy to our family!
Happy Birthday, sweet Jonah Mark!!!
Jonah is starting to look more and more like his Daddy all of the time!
Just chillin'!
"Yea!!!! Jonah is ONE!"
