The first football game of the season was a home game, and it was just two days after we found out Brian lost his job. So these pictures may give the impression that everything was "normal," but on the inside, we were really hurting. We are in the middle of the busiest season of our life...we can't just crawl in a hole and hide, even though sometimes that is exactly what we want to do. We are working hard to not let the sadness, anxiety and anger drown out the joy and happiness of this time with our kids. We have much to be thankful for...but sometimes it's hard to breathe.
Regardless of how we were feeling, we weren't about to miss this night. So we tried to put smiles on our faces and pretend like everything was okay. Fake it 'til you make it, right?
Jack got to run out on the field with the PreK and Kindergarten, in front of the football players. I'm so glad he didn't get run over! His buddy Kayson ran back to grab his hand and it was the cutest thing ever! I can't believe we have a Senior and Sophomore cheerleaders...so bittersweet, but we love watching them shine! Jonah was with us at the game too, but he ran off with his friends and we pretty much never saw him again. =0)
Seeing Mackenzie on the Senior banner was a definite reality check!
Madi is excited to have these sweet Freshman girls on the team this year!
Kayson and Jack have become good friends! I hear about Kayson every day!
