Chef Mickey's

We had reservations at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort on Saturday evening. Clint, Abigail & G-Ma had been at Hollywood Studios that afternoon while we rested and played at the resort. Chef Mickey's is one of my very favorite places to eat at Disney World. In fact, I just don't think a Disney trip would feel complete without it! Funniest part of the night was when I decided I needed my picture taken with Mickey...by myself! Yes, I am 31 years old...I don't care! I worked hard to plan this trip and I was wearing my "I Love Mickey" shirt. I wanted a picture with him! Our server had to take me over to another table to wait my turn...like I was 5! Brian thought it was so hilarious that he took my picture standing their pathetically waiting...it made me mad at the time but I agree that it is very funny now! Finally, I got my picture with my favorite mouse and I was a happy girl! (The kids had fun too!) We lucked out and were seated at the window, with a view overlooking the castle and all of Magic Kingdom. It was very cool!

And it was worth the wait and humiliation...I love this pic! I wish I could ask Walt Disney though...why a mouse? I. Don't. Like. Mice! Except for Mickey and Minnie, of course!

Jonah looked concerned a few times when the characters would come around, but he never cried or acted really afraid of them as long as they didn't try to hold him!

Madison really really wanted Pony to meet Minnie Mouse! When we introduced Pony to Miinnie, Minnie instantly began to make a fuss over Pony's hair...it has to be her finest feature!

We had a little extra time before our reservation so we explored the Contemporary resort. They had a Christmas tree and display set up like It's a Small World. It was very cute!

Art of Animation Resort

So this was our 3rd Disney Resort to stay in (I figure there are so many awesome ones, why stay in the same one twice?!) and it was definitely my favorite! Art of Animation is the newest resort on Disney property and while it is a Value Resort, it is absolutely incredible! I don't know a single kid who wouldn't love to stay there! We stayed in the Lion King family suites, where there was a bedroom, a pull down bed, a couch that made into a bed, 2 bathrooms and a little kitchen area. It was fantastic! One afternoon before dinner at Chef Mickey's, we spent an hour running around the resort and taking pic's with all of the fun statues. I have to insert a disclaimer here...there were signs everywhere that said "Do Not Climb." But, no one was paying any attention and how they expect the kids to not climb on such cool characters that they love?!

I would love to come back here to stay when Jonah is a few years older and is totally into CARS...how fun would that be?! I might have to break the "stay at a different resort every time" rule for that!

The Lion King came out when I was around 12 and it quickly became my favorite Disney movie EVER!

The girls slept on this bed that pulled down from the wall. It was the kitchen table when it wasn't pulled down as a bed.

We left this note for the "Mousekeeper," hoping she would do some fun things with the girls stuffed animals, as we have had happen in the past. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in that part of our stay. They did make up for not having our room cleaned up for us the first day of our stay, by having a huge princess balloon in the room when we came back late that night.

I don't even like to think about how much $$ we wasted, letting the girls fill up these HUGE pixie stick things that they never even ate. Oh, well...it made them happy!

I tried to have everything laid out and ready to go the night before, so things went smoothly as we got ready to go the next morning. Their little tennis shoes were just too cute, lined up like this!
