We spent all day Monday doing outreach ministry at a local park and hanging out with kids at the church. I woke up from a dead sleep about 2 minutes before we were supposed to be in the van leaving the hotel Monday morning. Oops! Exhaustion + sleeping pill = OUT. I have never gotten ready so fast! We brought a bunch of beads, and the kids loved making bracelets. We played soccer, UNO, corn hole, tag, and anything else the kids wanted to do. All while trying to show and share Jesus with them. One of my favorite things was watching our teenagers play this game on the phone with the Portuguese kids who spoke some English. It was so fun to listen to them breaking language barriers and laughing together! I especially loved watching Mackenzie playing this game. We ate lunch and dinner at the church and it was very good. After dinner we went back to the park and had a little service, where the Gospel and more testimonies were shared. Fernando's church has a drama team, and they did a few skits. It made me wish we had prepared something like that...maybe next year! =0)
It was special for me to get to be in this place where Brian has been so many times over the years. This is where he first started having all of his health problems back in the summer of 2016.
Fernando got me some "diet coke!" So very nice of him, but it was definitely not like our Diet Coke.
