Brian's Last Sunday at FBBA

For the past 10 months, Brian has been at First Baptist Broken Arrow on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, as their interim youth pastor. It has been a big sacrifice for us all, but it has been good. With Falls Creek starting, this was his last morning there. It has been a sweet season, but we are SO excited to have him back at church with us! I have missed having him there with me so much.
The youth group signed this canvas for Brian, which was very sweet. Madi & Jonah signed it too...
Jonah "you are the best paster ever. -Jonah" =0)
Madi "You are the best daddy a girl could ask for! I can't wait to go to church with you like normal. I love you. - Madi"

So Many Shades of Gray

Who knew there were so many shades of gray and that I would spend days going back and forth over which one to paint our house? We were scheduled to have our house painted a few weeks into June, but the painters had a cancellation and asked if they could come sooner. I was glad, but I still didn't have a paint color picked out...I literally was going all over the house painting strips of gray on the walls, because it looks different everywhere, depending on the lighting. I finally narrowed it down to Sherwin Williams repose gray or mindful gray...and for two days, I kept making a decision and then changing my mind, over and over. I mean, we are talking about the entire interior of our house, and a lot of money to have it done...so I didn't want to get it wrong!
And the winner is...Mindful Gray!

Falls Creek #6

This is Falls Creek summer #6 for us (crazy!) and we are Here. For. It! After not having regular camp last summer because of covid, it feels so good to be back! + Baby Jack this year! We officially fill a 6 seater golf cart all on our own now! Haha! We are looking forward to all God is going to do this summer & we are thankful...humble...blessed to be a small part of it!
We have very good kids! Falls Creek is a fun place for them to spend their summers, but at the same time they are also sacrificing their "normal" summers at home.

Moving Back to the Creek

We "moved" down to camp on Thursday afternoon, after Mackenzie's last day of school pool party. We only spent one night, just to kind of get settled, before coming home for Memorial Day weekend. This actually ended up being the only night we were there before camp actually started. We normally spend at least a few days there during set up week, but because we had our house painted and Madison had cheer practice, we ended up staying at home. We at least got to take some of our things & get "settled in" a little bit before camp started! I think because we didn't get to have camp last summer, there is added excitement and anticipation since it has been so long.
We've added one more Baldwin to the mix & we are ready for another great summer!
Jack's hair on the golf cart is the best!
The kids' room is very bright in the mornings, but Madison is prepared!
Jack didn't waste any time getting comfy in our bed...
Our Bookends...oh my heart!
And our middles...oh my heart again!
Checking out Boulder Springs is always one of the first things the kids want to do.

What a Difference 9 Months Makes

Well, that's a wrap! I always love looking at first/last day of school comparisons. It's amazing how much they change from the beginning of the school year to the end. I just wish they didn't grow up so fast!

I guess we now officially have one in High School, Middle School, Elementary School, and a baby at home! We've about got it covered over here!

I think Jack gets the prize for biggest growth this year! He needed a first/last day of school picture for sure! =0)

Mackenzie's Last Day of 8th Grade

Mackenzie's last day of school was Thursday & she was READY, after taking Finals all week. May 27th felt like forever...that just seems to be a few days later than we normally get out. But we made it!
Secondary doesn't have end of the year parties, but they do wrap up with an end of the year Awards Assembly. I knew Mackenzie was receiving some kind of an award, because the school sent me an email. It was a surprise to her though! Mackenzie received the Christian Character Award for demonstrating Enthusiasm! I love that her teachers recognized this quality in her. This girl loves school & it obviously shows! The definition of enthusiasm they gave was "Expressing joy in each task as I give it my best effort." I definitely think that fits Mackenzie well! There were only 6 character awards given in her grade, so it was a big deal to receive one of them. I think she got a little embarrassed when one of her friends cheered (loudly) for her! =0)
After the assembly, Mackenzie went to an end of the year swim party at LaBelle's house for a few hours. (Have I mentioned that I was partied out?!) Then I picked her up from there and we headed down to Falls Creek. Yep...we literally moved down to Falls Creek a few hours after finishing school!
Now she's off to High School... #mindblown
