First Home Football Game

Our first home game was this week, on Thursday night since its Labor Day weekend. Home games are so much more fun than away games! I will be very glad once it cools off a little though. Jonah spends most of the time running around with his friends, and we spend most of our time chasing after Jack.

ELEVEN

Jonah's actual birthday fell on Monday and we started the day with our traditional birthday wake-up song and breakfast in bed. Then I took donuts to school for Jonah to share with his classmates. And later that evening, Jonah's request was to eat dinner at Cici's Pizza. All in all, I think he had a great birthday! I like it much better when birthdays fall on the weekend so we can spend the whole day together. 

Yep, he looks a year older. 11 looks good on you, Jonah!

Happy 11th Birthday!! 

Wow--11 years old!! That is just the craziest thing to me! You have been an absolute joy and delight in our life, from the minute we found out you were on the way. I love so, so many things about you--but here are 11 of my favorites:

1. Your sense of humor! You are constantly making me laugh.

2. Your sweet spirit. If you can find a way to help, you will do it.

3. Your laid-back personality and easy-going temperament. 

4. Your love and creativity for Minecraft and Legos.

5. Your determination and hard work ethic. Even if something is hard, you don't give up.

6. Your smile. It's the best! Here in a few years, the girls are going to be after you!

7. Your willingness to play with Jack and be the best big brother! (You're a pretty awesome little brother to your sisters too!)

8. You are easy to please and you don't complain a whole lot.

9. You are my Diet Coke drinking buddy! Even though you've started to switch out for Root Beer, I know Diet Coke will always be a top contender for you! 

10. You are a good friend and you treat others the way you want to be treated.

11. YOU ARE MY FAVORITE FIRSTBORN SON!! And well, I love everything about you! I wouldn't change a single thing, because God made you just exactly how he wanted you to be. I know so much will change over the next few years, and I'm guessing you are going to grow even taller than me! But you will always, Always, ALWAYS be my baby boy!

Jonah's Zelda Birthday Party : #11

We celebrated Jonah's 11th birthday with our family on Sunday afternoon. As always, these are my very favorite days, when the people we love the most in the world are in our home. Jonah is very into the video game Zelda right now, so we went with that theme. He got so many fun gifts...some Star Wars Legos, a Dude Perfect corn hole game, some Zelda books, a 24 pack of Root Beer (he loved this!), and of course lots of money! I had every intention of doing a separate party with friends, but time got away from us and we didn't do it this year. I promised him that next year, we would do a big party with his friends!

Happy Birthday, Jonah Mark! You are deeply loved by so many!
