Baldwin Family Blog: Disney on Ice

G-Ma took us to Disney on Ice at the OK State Fair on Friday night. The weather was cool, so we bundled everyone up and took off. This is always a special thing that G-Ma does with the girls, and now Jonah too. I'm glad she lets me tag along! We normally go to the Saturday morning show, but we wanted front row seats, and they were sold out then, so we decided on Friday night.

Because of the weather, there weren't many people at the fair at all. We were able to walk around and eat corn dogs, fry bread, and a funnel cake (wow, that's healthy!) before the Icecapades. (Did I mention that we also bought a cinnamon roll to take home with us?! My diet doesn't start until Oct 1st, so it's okay. Right?) We also went into the animal barns and saw the horses, cows, pigs, and sheep. The girls loved it! The highlight was definitely the newborn goats and pigs. They had some that were born just an hour before...oh so cute. They were even newer than Jonah, but definitely not cuter! Jonah stayed nice and warm and out of the wind in his carseat in the stroller. He woke up and I fed him just before we went into the Icecapades.

The girls were so animated and excited about everything. They really wanted to ride the rides, but we didn't have time to do that.

Maybe one of these days G-Ma will get a horse! (hint, hint)

They love each other! I just wish they wouldn't fight quite so much. I guess that's just a normal part of being siblings. Goodness knows, my brother and I fought all of the time. I sure hope they grow up to be close friends though.

Disney on Ice was called "Dare to Dream" this year, featuring Tiana, Rapunzel & Cinderella. G-Ma spoils us and get us front row seats, right on the corner, where the skaters come up on a little platform. Several times during the show, the characters waved right at the girls. We hadn't been in our seats for 5 minutes, before the girls wanted to buy something. Again, G-Ma spoils us.. Madison picked a Tiana spinner, that I had to protect baby brother from because she kept spinning it way too close to him. Mackenzie picked a lantern wand from Rapunzel, which cast the prettiest polka dots...especially all over Jonah, which she thought was very funny. We also bought some cotton candy and each of the girls a cup at the end of the show. Because it was cold outside, we got the cups without the snow cones in them...surprisingly, the girls weren't too upset about not getting snow cones. It is amazing how quickly you spend money at the fair. We spent over $100 before we even knew it! We had a great time though, so it was definitely worth it.

The girls loved the Icecapades. Madison kept asking me over and over if Ariel and Jasmine were going to be there, and she was so disappointed when I said no. What I didn't know was that at the end of the show, all of the princesses came out! It was so very exciting and sweet when Madison said, "There's Ariel! I told you she would be here!" I'm glad she proved me wrong. The girls got up and danced during the finale, which led to a lot of other kids dancing as well. It makes me smile that they are so happy and carefree. That was a great ending to a wonderful night.

I'm so glad I didn't have to miss Disney on Ice with my girls this year. I wasn't sure if I would be up for it, just having baby brother 2 1/2 weeks ago. I still wasn't moving incredibly fast, but I did just fine.

Jonah was very good during the Icecapades. Even when he had bright lights shining right in his face!

The beginning of Disney on Ice is always so exciting...the girls were clapping and screaming, "There's Mickey Mouse!" "There's Tiana!" This definitely made me want to go back to Disney World.

The Rapunzel part was definitely my favorite.

When the lanterns dropped down at the end of the Tangled part, Mackenzie held her lantern up as high as she could. She held it up there as long as her little arm would let her!
