Mackenzie's class took a field trip to the Rainforest exhibit at the Tulsa Zoo. This was the morning of Madison's birthday, so I got her situated at school, left Jonah at home with Grandma Baldwin, and met them at the zoo. We have been to the zoo several times, but for some reason have never been to this building. The second we walked in, Mackenzie started gasping for air and holding her nose, complaining about the smell. She seriously kept looking at me like she was going to cry for the first 20 minutes we were in there. I felt sorry for her, but she's so dramatic that it was very hard not to laugh! In her defense, she was right...it did smell awful and it was very hot and humid. Mrs. Brenneman gave her some hand sanitizer to put on her hands, so she could smell it, and she perked up after that! We got to see a lot of very neat things in the rainforest...some really big snakes, colorful frogs, birds, fish, lizards, monkeys, and a sloth. I love it that Regent does fun, but very educational field trips.
It smelled so bad, that it made her tummy hurt, so she said. It really wasn't THAT bad...it was just musty.

This was too funny...he was telling them about some big fish in this tank and asked if any of the kids had a question. Mackenzie wanted to know if the big fish ate the cute little tiny fish...thankfully, the answer was no!
This was at the very end...at this point, the problem was not only the smell, but she was HOT! Mackenzie may be a little high maintenance, like her Momma! =0)
Everyone was happy to be outside in the fresh air again!
