Magic Kingdom Day ONE

There is nothing more exciting and magical in the whole world than being at the Magic Kingdom for the opening, knowing that you have 8 days of AMAZING fun ahead of you! Seriously, I know it may sound silly, but every time Mickey Mouse rides in on the train and they sing the "Good Morning" song, I have tears in my eyes...it's not about Mickey Mouse...it's about the excitement I see in my kids' eyes and the memories and sweet times that we are getting ready to share! Our first day at MK was an early one...and, it started off on a little bit of a rough note when Mackenzie smashed Madison's hand in the door of our room and G-Ma had to get onto her. Everyone was a little traumatized over it, but we got happy again really quickly...after all, we were in the happiest place on earth! While I absolutely LOVE Disney World, it is the least relaxing, stress--free vacation imaginable...it's a LOT of work and very tiring...but worth EVERY second of it! This was the girls 3rd trip to DW and Jonah's 1st. We were so excited to experience it with Uncle Clint, Aunt Abigail & G-Ma! This blog post may go in the record book for the most pictures ever...I must admit, I ended up with over 2,000 pictures between my camera, photopass pics, and all of our phones! =0) It has taken me literally 2 months to go through all of them and get them ready to blog!
I want to say a BIG Thank You to G-Ma for making this trip possible! (That sounds like an infomercial or something!) We encountered several small bumps in the road (Hoyston-Royston, etc. etc. etc.) but, overall it was a wonderfully magical vacation, and we can't wait to go back again in a few years!
Our first day went something like this:
Arrive at MK at 8:30 for the opening, go straight to Fantasyland (Little Mermaid Ride, Ariel's Grotto, Dumbo, Goofy's Barnstormer, See Goofy/Donald/Minnie/Daisy, It's a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Lunch at Be Our Guest restaurant, Pirates of the Caribbean, meet Tinkerbell & Periwinkle, Jonah's 1st haircut, parade, back to hotel to rest (G-Ma, Clint & Abigail went to Epcot for afternoon/evening), return to MK for the evening...we stayed until midnight...that's another post all of it's own! So it's safe to say that we made the most of our first Disney day!
Waiting for the bus to come at our resort...right after the whole finger smashing episode. =0( I love it that they were loving on each other, trying to recover from the trauma!
Let the Memories Begin!
We love G-Ma so very much!!
Jonah got a special "1st Visit" button!
Those curls just had about 6 hours left!
I love the look of excitement on Mack's face! I would love to know what they were talking about!
"Good Morning, Good Morning....Good Morning, Good Morning, to You!"
Our first view of the castle as we walked down Main Street when the park opened. Always an exciting moment!
I have to add right here as I look at this picture of Abigail carrying Jonah, Clint carrying Madison and G-Ma pushing Mackenzie in the stroller...it was AWESOME for Brian and me, having 3 extra adults to help with the kids!
I can't stand it...I want to go back so BAD! If I were rich, I would probably go at least once a year. Maybe twice! We always pre-purchase the Disney PhotoPass CD, which I absolutely love! There are photographers all over the parks and they just scan your card and take as many pictures as you want. Then later, you can go in and put these cute frames and autographs, etc. on them. So fun! And well worth the $$ to capture beautiful memories forever of your whole family.
Our first stop was new The Little Mermaid ride and to see Ariel.
She called Jonah a little guppy! He didn't know what to think about Ariel!
Mackenzie's favorite ride of the whole trip was Goofy's Barnstormer. It is a small rollercoaster and I bet she rode it 8 or 9 times. Madison wasn't as excited about it as Mack was! She rode with Aunt Abigail the first time and Brian and I rode together. I kept turning around to check on her and she had this look of terror on her face! Afterwards she said she liked it, but she didn't want to ride it again!

One of my favorite parts of the first day was when we all rode Dumbo together.
Jonah liked his first Dumbo ride!
This was our first time to experience the new Fantasyland expansion. We loved it!
Jonah liked giving the characters high-fives!

Love, Love, Love!
One of my favorite pictures of Madison from the whole trip! BFF's!

Enchanted Tales with Belle was an interactive attraction where each of the children got to play a part in the story. They also picked two knights, and Uncle Clint was one of lucky ones chosen! Mackenzie was Maurice in the dungeon and Madison was a salt shaker. They basically acted out the story and then took pictures with Belle at the end. Very fun!
Such a brave knight!
This cracks me up! We were waiting in line for lunch at Be Our Guest and these gargoyle things were everywhere...Brian took this picture of Madison and it looks like she is biting this gargoyle on the rear! So funny! (I'm fairly certain that wasn't what he told her to do! But you never know with him...)
I love this sweet picture!
Jonah was a little high maintenance at times.
The Be Our Guest restaurant was beautiful!
Uncle Clint's favorite ride...It's a Small World!
It's a Small World is the perfect ride to nurse a baby...I remember doing this when Madison was a baby too. Sweet, special moments!
 Aren't they cute?!
We met some new friends with shirts just like Mackenzie's while we were in line to see Tinkerbell. Poor Madi...this is like a "Which One Doesn't Belong?" picture. She didn't seem too bothered though!
Jonah was not interested in Tinkerbell at all!
Terrible picture...but, the only one of just our family before Jonah got his hair cut.
Two of my favorites! Makes me want to cry, just looking at them!
These are all PhotoPass pictures. Disney is so pretty at Christmas time!
These pictures were taken after Jonah's haircut (in another post).
Waiting for the parade to start.
This was the day after Thanksgiving, and we didn't even miss the crazy fun Christmas shopping that we always do. There's always next year to return to that.
He looked so different and grown up with his hair cut!
The parades are one of our favorite things at DW! It's so fun to watch the kids get so excited when they see characters that they love. After the parade, we G-Ma, Clint & Abigail went to Epcot for the rest of the day and we went back to our room to rest for a while before returning to MK for the evening.
