Animal Kingdom Day ONE

We spent the first part of Saturday at Animal Kingdom. Later in the day, G-Ma, Clint & Abigail went to HS and we went back to the room to rest, before our dinner at Chef Mickey's later that evening. We decided to show our true colors and all wear our OU shirts, which definitely attracted some attention from people passing by. (good and bad) I love Animal Kingdom! We went on the safari ride, did the Bug's Life attraction (which terrified the girls completely), rode Dinosaur, Mackenzie disappeared from G-Ma at the dinosaur boneyard playground (resulting in a moment of panic), rode Triceratop Spin, we saw Santa Goofy, watched the monkeys in Asia and ate lunch at Yak & Yeti, and lastly the kids and I ate Mickey Mouse ice cream bars while we watched G-Ma, Clint, Abigail and Daddy ride Expedition Everest. I'm glad I have the excuse of staying with the kids when it comes to big rides like that! It was a very fun day!
We were ready for another fun day!
First stop: safari ride. We saw lots of animals, including a male and female lion being very "friendly." Now that's something I never thought I would see!
"That's not that bad," you say...well, this was just the beginning!
Mackenzie kept begging to take pictures of the animals with my phone, but it was so bumpy that I was afraid she would drop it out of the safari Jeep!
It's Tough to be a Bug!
While G-Ma rode Dinosaur with Clint & Abigail, we rode Triceratops Spin and saw Santa Goofy.
Jonah LOVED Daddy's strawberry ice cream bar!
She is such a wonderful big sister! We were waiting in line to see Santa Goofy.
Trying to figure out where to go next...
Brian and I weren't nice enough to carry them around all the time...so they conned G-Ma and Uncle Clint into doing it!
We had fun taking these pictures!
I think it's funny that they imaged Tinkerbell into this picture...I was expecting it to be something kind of boy-ish jumping out of Brian's hand. We laughed when we saw it!
Sweet, sweet!
I can't even count how many of these we ate during our 8 days at DW!
Oh, Brian!
Brian called me right before they took off, so I knew this was them and I could even see them coming down. You couldn't pay me $1,000 to ride this. Seriously. Really, I meant it. No way.
Mackenzie REALLY enjoyed her ice cream!
Jonah was nice and relaxed!
We are so blessed to have the world's best Mom!
Not only is she the best mom, she's also the best friend a girl could ask for!
And, the best G-Ma any little girl could ever ask for! She loves these girls to pieces and they just adore her!
Headed out of the park...do we look tired?! After staying up until nearly 1 a.m. the night before, we were definitely ready to rest!
Mackenzie found this dead leaf? while we were waiting on the bus and we literally had to keep it in our room the entire time we were at Disney. She is our little treasure hunter!
