Jonah's 1st Haircut: Disney Style!

The moment we had anticipated (literally for months!) was finally here...our first day at Magic Kingdom and time for Jonah's first haircut! I would say that at 15 months old, Jonah's 1st haircut was probably about 5 months overdue! I can't even begin to tell you how many times he was referred to as a girl...I kept having to give Brian pep talks that it was only for a short period of time! I think I kissed and played with Jonah's sweet curls about a hundred times in the few days leading up to this. But, as sweet and precious as those cute curls were, and as sad as I was to see them go, I knew it was time...
We spent the morning at MK and then had Jonah's haircut scheduled for around 2:00 at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street. It's a big deal to have your baby's first haircut here...they even get these special "My 1st Haircut" ears! Jonah did a great job at first...he had plenty of distractions with Mickey Mouse stickers all over him and 3 light up spinners that the girls held his attention with. The lady who cut his hair did a great job! I was sad to see that first snip...I knew he wouldn't look as much like a baby with his hair cut. Where Jonah lost all patience with the whole hair cutting thing was when the electric trimmers came out...he screamed and had a complete fit! He had quite the entourage...Momma, Daddy, G-Ma, Uncle Clint & Aunt Abigail (I think all 5 of us were either trying to keep him happy, videoing, or taking pictures!) and two big sisters to keep him entertained! People probably thought we were crazy! I think the whole thing took about 10 minutes and while it was fun and exciting, I was very relieved when it was over. He looked so cute with his little Mohawk. (I thought it would be shorter on top and more like a faux hawk, but I still loved it.)
After the haircut, we found a place to watch the parade that was about to start on Main Street before heading back to the hotel to rest. We were all exhausted and ready for a break!
I am so glad we waited to have Jonah's 1st haircut at Disney World. It is something special that we will always remember about his first trip, and the picture above makes it worth the wait! Priceless...
We took a lot of last-curls pictures while we were waiting for his appointment!
We were trying to make him happy with a sucker before his haircut. He was getting very tired, which wasn't a good thing!
Yeah...I'd say he definitely needed a haircut!
Brian turned the phone to where Jonah could see himself and he thought that was just too funny!
Bye, Bye sweet curls...
Here is the long version of the haircut...pretty much the whole thing!
Mackenzie was cracking us up with these spinners...especially with the one sticking out between her legs! Silly girl!
At this point, he was thinking, "Wait a minute...what is she doing to me?!"
That's a LOT of hair for such a little boy! They put his hair in a special little bag with "pixie dust" for me to keep forever!
Not happy about the trimmers at all...
...but, he survived!
My handsome big boy!

AFTER: (That's QUITE a difference!)
Oh. My. Stars! And I thought he couldn't be any cuter...
We took lots of pictures of Jonah's new haircut while we waited for the parade to begin.
Yeah, he knows how cute he is!
Lastly, here are some pic's of Jonah and Daddy in front of the castle after he got his haircut.
