On our way back from FL, we drove through West Monroe, LA. We were really trying to make quick time and not stop very much, but when we found out that the Duck Commander warehouse was location just a few blocks off the highway, there was NO way we weren't stopping!!! We had been traveling for over 12 hours at this point, so it was a welcome pit stop. Duck Dynasty has become one of our favorite shows. What an amazing opportunity they have been given to share the Gospel! Even through all of the controversy and uproar over recent statements made by Phil Robertson, one thing remains...they love Jesus and aren't afraid to talk about it. I love that! It was FREEZING cold...especially after being in the 84* Orlando weather. This was a very quick stop, but we had enough time to buy a onesie for Jonah, a deck of cards for Mackenzie, a ball for Madison and a Christmas ornament for me. The only thing Brian wanted was a shirt with a skull that had a beard...uh, no! My response was, "Isn't there anything else in this whole store that you like? A skull...a beard...each are bad enough on their own...together...no...just no!" So then he didn't get anything...and I felt bad...so what did I get him for Christmas? Yep, he actually looks pretty good in that shirt with the bearded skull. I'm just glad his own hair has grown back on his head and he doesn't have a beard! Haha!
The girls thought it was so fun that we were at the actual place we watch on tv! I was hoping we might run into one of the Robertson's, but even though that didn't happen, I'm so very glad we made this stop!
Pretty plain jane...who would ever think this would be a place known to millions and millions of people.
Oh, Mackenzie! This girls keeps things fun all of the time!
If Pa were here, I'm pretty sure Jonah would have one of these chairs!
The girls too, for that matter!
I love how Jonah is looking at the girls in this pic!
