Breakfast at the Manger was this morning at church. I will never forget the very first year when we did this and Mackenzie was about the size of Jonah. She picked up a sheep and carried it off! In all the craziness of Christmas...the hustle and bustle, shopping, Christmas parties, presents, cookie baking, watching Christmas shows on tv, family, food...we want to make sure that our children understand that Christmas is really all about Jesus' birthday! The most wonderful gift we have ever received...the Son of God, sent to be the sacrifice for our sins. Our Savior. Every night at bedtime during Christmas, Madison would pray and say "Thank you that Christmas is really about Jesus' birthday and not about presents. But presents are good too! =0)" So, so precious! And funny! I'm glad that they "get it."
I love remembering the program last year when we got to be Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus with Jonah. Such a priceless and precious memory that will always be special to me.
Mrs. Powell had a little manger set in her Sunday School classroom that we went to see also.
