Shaw Christmas

This year we had Christmas with the Shaw's in Watonga, at Uncle Rodney and Aunt Sheila's house. Brian was able to take a vacation Sunday so that he could be there. I think it was the first time in about 5 years that he was able to do that and I was so glad he was there. This was our 2nd Christmas without my Dad and it still seems so strange without him here...especially when we get together with all of the Shaw's. It's just not right and it never will be. We had lunch, opened presents, the kids played, and Grandma Shaw read The Christmas Story to them. I love all of the pictures I got of the kids with Grandma Shaw. Her memory is getting worse all the time, so we are trying to spend as much time with her as we can and make the most of each opportunity we have to do so. Around 4:00 we loaded up and headed back to Tulsa in time for the Cuaderes' Christmas party. This was a fun, busy weekend full of get-together's with both sides of our family...we were exhausted by the time it was over!

I'm so thankful that my kids have their Great-Grandma Shaw to know and love!

Mackenzie was Santa and Madison and Libby were supposed to tell her what they wanted for Christmas!

Grandma Shaw has 9 Great-Grandkids now. (Scout, Rush, Dailee, and Beckett weren't there.)

The Grandkids...we were missing Bryan and Stefanie, Daniel, Cara, and Bret and Courtney.

And the Kids...Just missing my dad...

Time for presents...Grandma Shaw gave me $$ to go shopping for the kids for her. Mackenzie got a pair of pink cowboy boots and Twister, Madison got a pair of Minnie Mouse light up shoes and a Minnie Mouse shirt and vest, and Jonah got some cute clothes.

One of the most special gifts we got were Christmas decorations from Grandma Shaw's house. Before she sold her house in Carnegie, she went through things and picked out special little things for each of us. She gave the girls this cute Santa & Mrs. Clause set.

Now this is a cute present!

He looks like he's about to stick his tongue out and spit bubbles!

It didn't take long for them to get Twister out. Mack was very good at it!

Daddy and Madison had fun playing on the piano.

We ended the day with Grandma Shaw reading The Christmas Story to the kids. They all sat so still and quietly as she read it to them. It was a very sweet, special time.

Even Pony got to listen to the story!
