We opened presents with G-Ma, Uncle Clint & Aunt Abigail, and Poppa Jim on Christmas Eve morning. As always, the girls (and Jonah) were completely spoiled by G-Ma! They got so many fun toys and cute clothes. I think G-Ma bought half of the Gymboree store for Jonah! She got him several adorable outfits that I can't wait for him to wear. After opening presents, we had taco salads for lunch, finished our cupcake puzzle, and then cleaned up and loaded all of our stuff (We had a LOT of stuff!) to head home in time for the Christmas Eve service at church.
Before heading to Tulsa, we took some flowers out to my Dad's grave. We had been so busy going through the motions of Christmas, that we wanted to make sure we took some time to remember him. When I really stop and think about the fact that he isn't here, and how much fun it would be if he were still here...how he would love holding Jonah and playing with the girls, how he told me I looked pretty & called me "Girly-who,"...my heart almost physically hurts. We spent many wonderful Christmas Eve's together, opening presents and playing games like Scattegories, my Dad's personal favorite. I miss him more than ever! What do people who don't have the hope of heaven do? I really don't know how they can cope with losing loved ones, not sure that they will ever see them again.
Okay, enough of that...this is a Christmas post, it's supposed to be happy! We did have a wonderful Christmas Eve.
This was before bed the night before. We were all cozy in the sunroom, looking at Christmas Look and Find books.
Poppa and Jonah took a nap together on Christmas Eve morning. So sweet!
The girls got new suitcases, umbrellas, pajamas, and stompeze from G-Ma. Madison got a Minnie Mouse boots and purse from Uncle Clint and Aunt Abigail, and Mackenzie got the cutest outfit from them. They got Jonah an adorable pair of overalls.
Jonah ate and slept his way through the first part of present opening, but he woke up in time for a few pictures. He was definitely "On Grandma's Good List!"
Jonah got this fun basketball toy from Poppa & Louise. Madison got the Minnie Mouse singing purse she really wanted, and Mackenzie got Hello Kitty walkie talkies from G-Ma.
The girls both got "exercise clothes," which they were very excited about! Brian was happy to get a new pair of shoes, that were the exact same pair he already had, per his request. His old ones were wearing out, and he loved them so much that he wanted another pair.
Brian & Clint took way too much credit for finishing this puzzle! (Especially Brian...I don't think he put even 2 pieces in!)
This makes me hungry, just looking at it!
