Finally vacation time! Yea!!! We left on Thursday, Sept. 2nd and headed to San Antonio, TX and then Port Aransas, TX a few days later! It takes SO much stuff to go somewhere...or maybe I'm just a bad packer! Madison "helped" while daddy loaded all of our stuff into the car. She is into EVERYTHING right now! We have been extremely blessed with children who travel well. We bought new DVD players for the backseat a few days before we left, and that kept them entertained most of the way there. It was a long day of driving, but it went by pretty fast. We got to San Antonio around 7:00 and ate dinner at Wendy's. Then, we went to check into our hotel. I booked it through Expedia and chose a Best Western that said it was .2 miles from Sea World...well, it was actually much further than that, so I was already frustrated. Then, when we walked into our room, the air conditioner was turned off and it was 100 degrees (not kidding)...and we were supposed to have a King/Non-Smoking room, and instead had a Double/Smoking room. After checking with the front desk, they told me they had no other rooms to move us to and it would cool off soon. I was so mad! I called Expedia and ended up getting a 10% discount and a $20 gift card for the next time I book with them. (Which may be never!) After calling the office three times, they finally found us a room that was cool and non-smoking. Thank you, Lord!
For some reason, both of the girls' at this age liked playing with these...go figure!
Brian listened to his Ipod while I read a book most of the time.
Totally captivated by the movie! What did we ever do without these?!
It didn't take long for Madison to fall asleep! Man, I wish I could ride like that on car trips!
We put the girls' bathing suits on since it was so hot in our room...we were going to go swimming, but we couldn't because it started raining and lightning...look at their little rosy cheeks!
