Dad's 50th Birthday

We got to celebrate my dad's 50th Birthday this weekend! We love him very much and wanted his birthday to be special. While he still faces a lot of health issues, we are so thankful that he is cancer-free. We had a family BBQ in the backyard, with homemade ice cream & all. One thing is for sure...Pa is very proud of his little girls! He loved the hat we brought back from Port Aransas that said, "PA!"

It was a very informal party, but the girls wore their party dresses anyway! I wonder how many pictures we have like this...Madison in a choke hold...no wonder the poor thing lives in self-defense mode! Her big sister really does love her though!Love Fall time at G-Ma and Pa's house!Love the hands on the hips...she was giving Pa his card!Where there are presents, there will be Mackenzie!Dad & Grandma Shaw"Happy Birthday To You!" (Where is G-Ma's party hat?!)This was a much happier celebration than dad's birthday last year, when we found out he had cancer...it has been a rough year for him, and he has done so well. I am so proud of him! Pa had lots of help blowing out his candles! Love this!YUM! We made the Neely's Red-Velvet cupcakes...we thought they would be fabulous, but they were just okay...they looked pretty & the icing was good, anyway!Poppa knows how to keep Madison's attention...feed her ice cream! The pretty girls in pink! You can tell this girl is used to having her picture taken! She knows how to turn that smile on!
We didn't last long in the paddle boat...maybe about 4 minutes!G-Ma's got some good-smellin', clean babies right there! I love this picture, but it also makes me cringe...at 18 months old, Madison is biting her fingernail...and who's fault is that? MINE...boo!We are so blessed with a wonderful dad!
