Mother's Day

Brian let me decide what to do on Mother's Day, and I opted for sleeping in instead of going to church. I know that's probably bad, but I was so exhausted from the hustle and bustle that comes with the end of the school year, so the extra few hours of sleep was a gift! Brian and the kids got me a new frame from HL with our most recent family pics...I love it! We went to Newcastle to have lunch with G-Ma & Grandma Shaw, and then we spent a quiet evening at home playing outside.
It was very special to spend time with Grandma Shaw. Her Alzheimer's has gotten so bad that she is having trouble even remembering how to walk and get around. Breaks my heart... =0(

Being a Momma is one of the best blessings in my life! As a little girl, as a big girl, as a teenager, and as a newly married adult, it was all I ever wanted to be...and when I was 24 years old, my dream became a reality and my life has been richly blessed ever since! Yes, sometimes being a mom is hard work, selfless, exhausting, stressful...but the joy and privilege is all mine & all of the wonderful moments outweigh the hard ones 10 to 1!
Brian's post with the picture above was very sweet..."I'm pretty sure @candacebaldwin 's love for our kids is the purest love a person could know! Happy Mother's Day, love!"
He had just gotten home from Peru, so it was nice to just be back together again!
Breakfast in bed to start the day!
It's amazing that Grandma Shaw can still remember how to play the piano a little bit. We always love listening to her play beautiful music.
"The only thing better than having you as my Mom, is my children having you as their G-Ma!" My mom is amazing and we would be lost without her!
I love this pretty little rose bush in our flower bed!
A little skateboarding practice to finish off our evening!
