The American Christian Government Tour ends with a fancy dinner at Maggiano's on the last night. Mackenzie looked simply beautiful!
At CHA, they do the DC trip at the end of 6th grade, to begin their time in Secondary. And then at the end of their Senior year, they go on a trip to Boston. It's hard to believe that in a short 6 years, we will be doing that Boston trip with Mackenzie and sending her out into the world for college. That thought makes my heart hurt!
Mrs. Low gave each of the kids a $2 bill and a copy of the Declaration of Independence. The teachers had talked to the kids earlier in trip about writing a card and finding a small gift for their parents, as a thank you for coming on the trip. While we were at the mall earlier in the day, Mackenzie wanted to go into the Hallmark store to shop for something. She gave me the sweetest card and a United States charm for my bracelet...I love it!
At the end of dinner, we had some special visitors...Thomas Jefferson and John Adams! They did a little reenactment and had the kids participate. After dinner, it was time to give last-minute hugs and say goodbye to our friends, because we were leaving bright and early the next morning for the airport.
I am so, so thankful that we found our way to CHA in time for Mackenzie to be in 6th grade and have this amazing experience!
The food was served family-style so we got to try a little bit of everything. It was amazing!
Oh, my heart! Precious!!
Haha! She missed the "Happy Birthday" part!
This had something to do with the national bird, if I remember correctly!
