We flew home from Philadelphia on Thursday morning and Brian picked us up at the airport and took us straight to the school in time to have lunch with Madi & Jonah! I missed them so very much and it felt so good to have them back in my arms again!
I really didn't think we were going to make our flight...getting to the airport and through security has never been as stressful and crazy as it was on this day. At dinner the night before, Shawnna Nuthman and Cynthia Jines were talking about Ubering to the airport at the same time we needed to get there, so we ordered a big Uber that we could all ride in. It was supposed to seat 6+ and have room for our luggage. Well...when our Uber drive finally arrived 30 minutes late...he only had 4 seats and hardly any luggage space. We had no choice but to cram all 6 of us and our huge suitcases in there though, or we would've missed our flights for sure. I was really trying not to freak out, as Mackenzie sat in my lap with luggage all around us in the very back of his vehicle, and we drove through a ton of traffic trying to get to the airport. Looking back, it is funny, but in that moment I was fuming mad and trying to maintain my Christian witness. I felt bad that adding us to their Uber ride had caused them to have a stressful morning as well. Thankfully we all made our flights! The driver dropped us off & we checked our suitcases at the curb, so we were able to go straight through security. I've never seen such a long security line...OF COURSE! It moved quickly though, and we made it to our gate with about 15 minutes to spare and even managed to grab something for breakfast. I've never been happier to be seated on an airplane in my life, and thankfully it was a direct flight to OKC! #sigh
I can't imagine having to ride on that bus for 2 more days all the way back home...NOPE. I think I might have had a meltdown! One can only take so much! =0) And I also can't imagine going on to NYC for the weekend, like several families did...I was way too exhausted! Thankfully we had air miles to use, so it didn't cost us any $ to fly home.
What an amazing trip! And what an amazing feeling to sleep in my own bed again! =0)
Here is the video of our entire trip, from start to finish!
Feeling so happy on the way to the airport...or not!
Mackenzie wasn't nearly as nervous about flying this time, as she was when we went to Belize.
The Chan's were on our flight home too. Here we are in OKC! Home Sweet Home!
