Jonah woke up one morning and couldn't put any weight on his left leg at all. It was the strangest, scariest thing...he basically couldn't walk. So I kept him home from school and took him straight to the Pediatrician. When he pushed around on Jonah's ankle, it caused obvious pain so he sent us to have an x-ray, just to be sure nothing was fractured. He also wanted to do blood work to make sure there was not a blood infection...this thought scared me more than anything else. Jonah did great through the x-ray, but having his blood drawn was one of the most traumatic experiences I have been through as a Momma...it was just simply awful...the nurses even let him have THREE teddy bears so he could share with his sisters when it was over.
It was a long morning, but Jonah was a trooper and he loved getting to pet the cute little therapy dog while we waited to do the x-ray. Thankfully, there was no fracture & no blood infection...they said it could just be a sprain or something...we really have no idea, because we can't remember him doing anything to hurt it. By the end of the day, he was able to put a little pressure on it. The next morning, he woke up and was pretty much completely back to normal. Praise the Lord! When we are healthy and all is well, we tend to take our health for granted...the second something goes wrong, or someone is sick, we realize how scary and fragile life can be. I'm a worrier by nature, so of course my mind tends to roam to the worst possible scenarios. I am just so thankful that whatever was wrong with Jonah's little ankle wasn't a big problem and it healed quickly!
He had a smile on his face the whole time...except during the blood draw...definitely no smile then.
He was so excited to be able to give his sisters bears too!
We were so happy to see him up and moving around by the end of the day!
